Howdy!

Morality is a sociological dynamic. If it wasn't for people caring what people thought of them (which transfers into how others can benefit you) everyone would be killing each other. In my opinion, morality is an effect of order, and the mechanism (religion) used to control the masses.

I say, the dawn of society was the dawn of morality, as opposed to direct biological occurences, even though they do play a role. Happy Trails!

I'd say so. It's a necessity for communal species. You need certain rules, like the unspoken morals, to make it advantageous for groups to form. If the individual constantly has to worry about his fair share or his life being taken, he won't stay in the group, and the community will disband. However, with group effort, you can achieve greater productivity and safety against outside forces. As the first species did not live this way, it must have been something that was developed along the way to the present.

My opinion. when man was tribal and nomadic and lived off what nature had to offer he lived in a society with a small i and a big WE, when he discovered if he dropped seeds on the ground and something came up that I became big and the we small, I did this, this is mine and you stay away from it. He took possession of something and took steps to protect it. You take this you'll be punished. So what happens when he's sleeping or away and can't meter out the punishment, some kind of morals must be established. I wonder what form that will take???

Never seen many moral vultures, or bears or scorpions, so I personally don't see how morality fits in to evolution. Most evolutionists say that religion and science do not overlap, but they certainly do. That's were the conflict comes from. I say that since we are capable of morality that points to a designer. But that's just me. :)

You do well to put this in the "religion/spirituality" category, for Darwinists have touted their dogma like any other religious fanatic would.
