I heard about a street fighting style developed in the city by a "black belt society" whom noticed people getting mugged and knifed everywhere. they had techniques like spitting in one's face as a distraction.
Does anyone know what its called?

It is NOT Jeet Kune Do.
It sounds like just a basic self defense course. They are a little different from martial arts because they just teach you how to get away.
I really doubt that there is a secret black belt society out there making up their own arts. That sounds like a sales tactic to me.

I don't know what it's called, but I think it is worth learning. In some cities, it is against the law to carry a gun. Another possibility is that you could have problems with your gun, or it could get taken from you. Maybe you might forget it at home one day. What would you do then? Aside from that, martial arts are great exercise. A gun might help, but I think knowing some martial arts would help you as much or more than the gun.

The spitting is a wierd tactic.
But as for the street defense Choi Kwang Do is designed soley as a street defense martial arts.

The only effective street fighting technique is use of a firearm. If you are unwilling or unable to use a gun, you absolutely should not fight. You will be killed.

i have no clue what this style "spitting in the face with spit" but i know mauy thai is very good street fighting.
