Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.
With love in Christ.

Masturbation is a sin. It is a work of the flesh. It is inspired by demons. Most people will say that it feels good and it is natural. But you have to remember that we were born into sin, so acts of the sinful nature as far as we know are naturaly to us. However, when you are born again you will have a desire to hate such acts. The Holy Spirit will convict you of sexual acts like that once you began to walk with God. The Spirit of God will bear witness to you that masturbation is sinful.

Yes. But so is premarital sex. If you must choose, I think masterbation is the lesser of the two evils so to speak. As long as it doesn't take the place of intimacy.

After God killed Er, Judah tells Onan to "go in unto thy brother's wife." But "Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and ... when he went in unto his brother's wife ... he spilled it on the ground.... And the thing which he did displeased the Lord; wherefore he slew him also." This lovely Bible story is seldom read in Sunday School, but it is the basis of many Christian doctrines, including the condemnation of both masturbation and birth control. 38:8-10

In reality, all sex is a sin. . .it takes your attention away from God.
Obviously some sex has the potential to hurt more feelings are do bodily harm, so those are worse.
I'd say that it's pretty harmless, though.
