How often are you feeding the kitten? At three months three to four small meals a day is the way to go. If the adult cats' food is left out all the time the kitten might be eating too much or too frequently.

Kittens don't have to have 'kitten food'. The kitten food has a little more protein and a little more fat and is good for them. However, the adult cat food is not harmful to the kitten. Kittens raised by their mothers don't get "kitten food". They eat the same as the mom.

Can you keep the kitten in your room for a part of the day? If you are using a computer there, reading or listening to music just have the kitten with you so you know what it is eating and can monitor how much it is getting. I am not suggesting that you confine the kitten there all the time and some time alone with you and her own special food might help this situation.

Try to watch the kitten a little more, clean up if you have to. and try to help your mother if she seems stressed. I feel that she is, after all, the adult and she should be helping you solve this problem and not threatening you.

If you take some or all of these steps and the kitten continues throwing up then you have to consider that the kitten might be ill and need to see the vet.

The kitten should not be eating adult cat food. She should only eat food made for kittens. You might have to separate the adult cat food and the kitten food so the kitten does not eat it. Plus she might be eating too much food at one time. You did mention having other cats in the home, so there may be a little bit of tension for the kitten to eat a lot. If you do this and the kitten is still vomiting take it to the vet immediately. It might be suffering from an intestinal problem.

First of all tell mom that adopting a pet is a lifetime committment. If she can't hack it, better find a new home NOW before it gets too attached!!! Kittens are easier to place than big kitties.

A three month old kitten needs kitten food. It's growing like a weed right now, and it needs that special nutrition for optimum health right now. The adult food might also be hard on his/her tummy. You should be feeding Science Diet, Iams, Nutro, or some other premium food. Dry food should be out and available for nibbling at all times, plus fresh water, and canned kitten food at mealtimes.

It's not normal for a healthy kitten to be vomiting several times a day. Not knowing it's history, I have to strongly suggest you see a vet ASAP.

FYI -- having SOME adult kitty food is okay if the kitten likes it, but it HAS to have a primary diet of KITTEN food.

Good luck!!!

Put the adult cat's food on the counter or somewhere up high where the kitten can't reach it. Put the kitten food on the ground. ONLY allow the kitten to eat the appropriate food, even if it means keeping them separated. It's really unhealthy for kittens to eat cat food - there are things in it that their little bodies just can't digest yet.

I HAD THAT SAME PROBLEM BUT IT'S OKAY, JUST LIKE HUMAN BABIES THEY NEED A LITTLE T.L.C. WARM FOOD AND SOFT AND IN MODERATION.
SO HERE IS MY SUGGESTION GET A SMALL MICROWAVEABLE PLATE WITH MILK AND WARM IT UP, MAKE SURE THAT IT IS A LITTLE BIT WARMER THAN ROOM TEMPERATURE AND NEXT PUT SOME ADULT HARD CAT FOOD ON THE PLATE OF WARM MILK AND WAIT UNTIL IT SOFTENS THEN FEED IT TO THE KITTEN.SHE OR HE WILL LOVE IT. IT WILL BE EASIER FOR THE KITTEN TO DIGEST IT. OR JUST GO OUT AND BUY KITTEN FOOD IF YOU CAN, BUT THE OTHER WAY WORKS JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER, SPOKEN FROM TRUE EXPERIENCE, THIS DOES WORK. HAVE A NICE DAY!

Place the adult cat food in an area where the kitten can't get to it. Sounds like the adult food is too much for his tummy - you can also get cat food for cats with sensitive stomachs -

Kittens need the extra nutrition in kitten food. You don't get rid of a cat cause it gets sick just like you wouldn't get rid of a child if it gets sick. I would change its food to kitten food and if it doesn't improve call a vet cause it may have worms or something else.

did you take her to the vet? take her to the vet if you havn't.

and when she gets done eating, go sit with her outside with her[incase she throws up again]

but whatever you do, make sure she's taken care of so you wouldn't have to hear your mom making plans of wanting to get rid of her.(that is........ if you REALLY want the little kitty)

pets need homes too[especially little kittens]. so you shouldn't be lazy enough to let your mom take her away. so take care of her so the kitty can stay with YOU!!!!

or take the SOLID cat food away from her.

Probably it wouldn't hurt to feed them both kitten food for another 2 months. He might have a fur ball. You can get some medicine for it that you put on their paw and they lick it off. It hleps them pass the fur ball.
