This reminds me of the question I asked about why there were so many questions bashing Christians. This is yet *another* anti-Christian question. I don't feel persecuted though... I was just wondering why so many people ask questions like this- and you provided an answer, so thank you for that. As for the wars and suffering caused by "Christianity" well, those wars, the inquisition, etc. have nothing to do with the words of Jesus and go against the real ideas behind Christianity. But if you feel that present-day Christians must make reparations for the sins of Christians that lived a few hundred years ago (the last Spanish Inquisition ended in the 1800's, I think) then so be it.

I don't think Mr. Mister is helping this situation. . . Anyway, There has been good and evil done in the name of Christianity, just as there has been good and evil done in the name of Islam, and there has been good and evil done in the name of democracy. The idea that a great evil can't be counteracted ever is ludicrous. If that were the case then we would have to hold all Germans everywhere for all time accountable for evils done by Germans under Hitler. Of course we don't do that. It isn't the modern Germans fault that so many people were killed and persecuted in the 30's and 40's. It is also ridiculous to hold modern Christians responsible for all the evil done in the past by corrupt governments in the name of Christianity.

Do you really not see what your religion has done and why people would view it negatively? No amount of good can counteract all that evil.
------------
While I DO realize the casserole I take over to my neighbor's house (his wife has been sick and he doesn't cook) won't make up for all the bad that has been done, I don't see the point in giving up on being nice. What exactly do you mean by "good"?
Must be nice for you to judge all Christians like you even know me.

Christians have been persecuted for about 2,000 years now. Your reading of history seems a little SLIM.
I know there has been alot of evil done in the name of religion, especially ours. Political posers never die, they just change clothing!
Perhaps you should read "Fox's Book of Martyrs" for some different takes on martyrdom and persecution. For something a little more recent (within the last 20 years or so), try "Jesus Freaks" by DCTalk. You might also try looking up the "Voice of the Martyrs" publications.
There are still people being tortured to this day for their faith. Christians are among them. So are Jews, Buddhists, Moslems, and others. Wherever there are people willing to shout "INFIDEL!!!", there are people who become their victims.
Try opening your eyes. Please!

HM seems to me you are proving the very thing you are trying to disprove. You think? I don't feel persecuted because I am a Christian. I am my own worst critic. I know I sin. I accept it, ask forgiveness, and grow in my faith. If you want to call names and point fingers then go ahead. I don't care. I am here to be the best human being I can. I know I want ever reach perfection, that no one here will again. Jesus was the only one to do it. But I can grow into a better person everyday. And that pleases God and makes me happy too.

I don't agree with that, but I do think that there have been some serious wrongs done by the Christian peoples, such as the destruction of many traditions and cultures belonging to non-christian people.
A formal apology would work. And also, if you would please keep your religious beliefs to the boundaries of your religion and not push them into law. That would be great.
Also, I'd like to point out that SHinto has never done anything to harm anyone. It was when you started messing with its traditions that Japan went on the warpath anyway.
I. PRAY. FOR. ALL. CHRISTIANS. :)

You do have somewhat of a point, but so does the guy talking about all groups doing evil. I don't think the Buddhists have, though.
It is very hard to see from the inside and hindsight is always 20/20.
Maybe tone down that anger some, mmmmkay?

The Christian religion is so new and naive that they tend to act "childish" in their ways. Unlike the Jews or the Catholics, who have been around for many years, they usually stick to them selves and rarely try to convert or preach (at least from my experience) But on the other hand hand you have these "Christians" , these "Extremist" who can't put the Bible down, who can't stop condemning as if the Lord was speaking right through them. It's sad to see these people acting like fools.

I don't know exactly what prompted this question, or why you seem so angry, but true Christians all know they must endure persecution. If we do not suffer some form of persecution, there is something wrong in our lives.
"All who desire to live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution"- 2 Timothy 3:12.
And what exactly has true Christianity (as opposed to those may claim to be Christians but are not) done that you feel is wrong?
