If it hurts when you do that, don't do that!

Nobody here can answer this question without seeing you and your gums. Take your gums to your dentist and ask. You will probably see your orthodontist soon anyhow, so ask then, unless you think it can't wait.

In the mean time, stop pressing on that certain part of your gums. Whatever it is might be trying to heal and you keep messing with it so it can't.

your gums hurt means u have gingivitis...but if your teeth hurt means dere is caries in your teeth....is your gingiva swollen,,is ere any change in colour ,,contour consistency of da gingiva...inadequate brushing and flossing is d amost ccommon cause of gingivitis...plaque accumulates around faulty fillings..and around poorly cleand dentures,,orthodontic apliances..when plaque stys for more then 72 hrs it becomes hard into calculus,,and cant be removed by normel brushing and flossing...gums become swollen red in colour,,and movable...plaque cn be prevented by daily us eof toothpaste ,,flossing,,and mouthrinses..further u have braces os u need to take more care of your teeth...
