Is it the questions that start running through your mind about whether God is real or not? Is it the fear that you might be wrong?
Is it that they are actually very similar to you? What makes you so threatened by atheists that you have to attack them?

That same question can be turned around, why do athiests hate Christians so much? What are you so threatened by? Why are there so many mean, hateful and demeaning questions and answers posted on here regarding Christians?
And for the record, I am a Christian and I don't hate any atheists. I disagree with their viewpoint and beliefs, but I certainly don't hate any of them- if I did I would not bother to share my faith, answer their questions or give them the time of day.

I don't see Christians or other believers attacking Athiests on this forum. I see the reverse! It is the Athiests and non-believers that are posing as religious bigots and posting flame-worthy material. It is the athiests and non-believers posting crap about licking genitalia, flashing themselves, and creating bogus debate rules. It is the athiests and non-believers mocking people just like themselves, for having faith and yet having failings just like their own!
I don't see believers doing this to athiests. To disagree with someone is not to hate them, it is merely to disagree.
But the spew that comes out sooooo often on this "religion/spirituality" forum, comes from athiests, and THAT IS HATE.
I don't have a problem with an honest discussion. I just wish there was more of it!! The crap that gets posted here DOESN'T QUALIFY.

You have your facts wrong. It is far more common for Christians to be attacked. You probably don't notice when that happens because it seems perfectly fine when we are the object of insults. Go back and look again if you are at all interested in the truth. Most likely you are not.

I don't hate them. I hate their attempts to discredit and put down anyone who's beliefs or lack of them are not like theirs. If they are so great then why do they spew such hate and venom? Everytime you ask them something they are sarcastic and mean. I do not doubt GOD at all. I simply feel sorry for those that will one day see the truth and looking back see all that was shown to them that they refused to believe due to their own arrogance.
I do not hate anyone.

Why are Atheists in the religious section??? Why are Atheists always pushing their beliefs on everyone and trying to convert everyone to their belief system??? Why can't Atheists just leave us alone then we wouldn't have to defend our faith...
Atheists are the ones who persecute Christians... we are just trying to have normal discussions when Atheists stick their noses in our business...
If you don't like it get out of the religious section and stay out...

Maybe part of it is that they are responding to the fact that most atheists seem very hostile to ideas that suggest the existence of God.

I wouldn't say everyone hates atheist. All my friends still love and care for me. I think it may be that they are told to believe this way, atheist make you think, and that could lead to loss of faith.
