The bible spoke of a great apostacy, and also warned people of it far in advance. The catholic priest have people so scared of life that they would dump all their money out in their laps so they would have a paid way to heaven. Sorry it dosent work like that. I would think that the catholics are the great apostacy, but I cant say for sure. I do believe that they have fooled alot of people and made it look fun. Christmas stems from Caltholics and so do most Holidays. If you dont believe me I read it in the Encyclopedia under Christmas. It specifically says that The Catholic church basically made this Christmas holiday up so they would have more people attend their churchs and now almost every religion celebrates a holiday under false teachings. Also the trinity doctrine once again began being taught by Catholics. I would take what they say on any program with a grain of salt.

Satan can't beat the church so he joined it. Catholics are some strange people. They change the 10 commandments by taking 8 of the ones we know and made 10 out of them. Look it up yourself its true. The priests are always rapeing little boys and they think they can pray you into heaven after your dead. Only Jesus in your heart can do this. The priest CAN NOT forgive your sins only the true Jesus can do this. We are to pray to Jesus not Mary his mother. There are a lot of Catholics headed to hell. I don't wanna offend anybody but facts is facts. The Holy Bible is the only Bible with all 66 books to be the truth and Jesus is the only way to heaven. And for the rapture it is coming very very soon.

Hi,
You can't believe somene has a different belief than you? I hope you get used to that soon, since most people have many different beliefs than you.
Just curious, was the priest speaking for the Catholic Church, or was he explaining his own opinion? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and many people on Earth do not take the Book of Revelations from the Christian Bible as divine truth (or as a prophecy). Even a lot of Christians (Catholic or Protestant) don't take the book of revalations seriously.
Basically, the only people who do take the Book of Revelations seriously are Christian Fundamentalists and Extremists and Literalists (a very small percentage of the human population, and a very small percentage of Christians).
When I got to a certain age, I stopped believing everything in the BIble was 100% true. I mean, seriously, the idea that God created Eve from the rib of Adam is just stupid and unbelievable. I'm not saying that to offend people who take it literally, but it's like if you told me you like to eat sandwiches made of mustard, cheese, ham and cardboard... I would say that's stupid and unbelievable. Eve being made from Adam's rib is the first really ridiculous thing found in the Bible, so I mentioned it, but there lots more things that just can't be true. I mean, most people eventually realize that parts of the Bible simply are not true! So it's up to me to decide for myself which parts I want to believe and which parts I think are fiction. You can decide for yourself which parts seem believable and which parts seem like fiction, too.
If that Catholic priest doesn't believe the Book of Revelation is true (doesn't believe it's going to happen) then how does that effect your life whatsoever? It doesn't hurt you at all. What other people believe doesn't effect your life, so why do you care? Live and let live. And try to think about and understand where other people are coming from instead of just getting mad at other people for being different!
Good luck! Bye.

Actually the History Channel has done some good shows on Revelation; it should be noted that the Number of the Beast, for instance, changes with the numerical value of the name of the emperor at time of writing. There are two different values because it was assembled from at least two different time periods. The book is about the saving of the people of Judea from the Romans; it does not have longer-lasting significance except insofar as it *can* teach those who came after 70 CE something about life in general.

I'm a Catholic.
I did not see the priest on CNN, and for all I know, what he said could have been contrary to Church teaching. However, I remember when I read the book of Revelation, it seemed that St. John was attempting to describe a vision he had about what is going on in the spiritual realm.
I am interested in the pursuit of truth. After all, in the end, truth is all that matters, isn't it? As a Catholic, and as one who is pursuing truth, it is not my intention to deceive anyone, and I have a hard time believing that my Church is deliberately out to deceive, either.

I agree...I don't really care for Jerry Falwell or Catholicism...I am a Christian, I do believe in the Bible as God's word. And yes, I do believe in the definition of the rapture(even though the word "RAPTURE" is not in the Bible)...These obviously are the end times, and as you can see, through alot of these answers, many hearts HAVE already been hardened...Hope this helps...God Bless

the rapture was an attention getting scheme thought up by a 15 year old girl who had a crush on her minister, and revelations was all a dream, and intended only for 7 churches in china to get them back into the flock. It was never meant to be something you based your whole religion on. Have you done any actual research on anything in the bible, or do you just do what your ignorant preacher tells you to?

There are several views about the Book of Revelation. Look up these on a search:
Historicist ( I think that preist was one)
Dispensationalist
Spiritualist
Preterist
Futurist
Don't let it bother you. My pastor said that if you don't believe in the rapture, you aren't going. That wasn't a pressure tactic on his part, it was from God's word that we get that you can put your trust into God's promises and they'll happen. If you don't put your trust in the promises of God, they don't.
So hang in there.

Ya the catholic leaders are trying to rewrite history too. They don't want people to read the bible and see the signs that can only be the catholic church.
Were are the Protestants that for years proclaimed the bible teaching show who Babylon is?
