What should you do now with the persons membership? The group I run is free. Should the membership be terminated? Should you just leave the membership alone? The members former girlfriend was the one that brought this to our attention. She joined just to tell us what happened to him. He had already been dead a few months and occasionaly we would still bring him up in a conversation. What do you all think is the proper way to behave in such a situation? Thank you for your time and attention to this!

Just so you know, none us know where he lived or any thing like that.

I'm very sorry to hear that, dear. What you can do, is remember him and dedicate something special in his memory. If no one else wants to pick up his membership, then the best thing to do is terminate it.

someone must take the lead...why not you

remember:

phony expertise is neurotic

the wise leader has learned how painful it is to fake knowledge

being wise and not wanting pain

the leader does not indulge in pretending

anyway, when it is all said and done, it is a relief to be able to say:

"I don't know." or "I didn't know."

you should just have a heart-to-heart conversation with the group and talk about how they feel. And you can just stop there and don't mention him......it'll only make the others miss him more......
