PFT: Pulmonary Function Test: A test where doctors measure the lung fitness and the amount of air taken in when inhaling and expelled when exhaling.

VQ Scan: A test that measures how the air enters the lungs and how blood flows in the lungs. Usually done in a Radiology unit. This test is also used to check for the presence of a pulmonary embulism.

Don't you hate all those abbreviations? My favorite is SOB. So now you can say you are SOB and not be swearing. Unfortunately being Short Of Breath is no laughing matter and it sounds like you have some very serious health issues. It would be more pleasant for you to be the other kind of SOB. Keep smiling and take those anticoagulants. Hopefully they can get this under control without you suffering too many complications.
