At the fire station.

Bicycle licenses are issued every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 12 noon at every fire station in Long Beach.

The cost for a license is $1.00 for each bicycle licensed. If available, please bring proof of purchase to make registration easier.

Damn! I've heard of optional bike registration, but not a mandatory license to ride a bike. Is it mandatory? If so, how'd they justify that one? Surely it can't be for safety! A bike is so easy to operate! And the rules for riding a bike are supposedly the same as for driving a car. If you have a driver's license, you should be qualified to operate a bicycle with no additional credentials! If it is mandatory, it must be to raise money for the city. Please, tell us if this is mandatory! I'm itching to know . . . .
