I mean, NO other religion besides the Mormons have had so much persecution other than the Jews. It is just wierd. All I see on here is people bashing Mormons. No one bashes the Baptists, or the Episcopalians etc...All the Mormons I know are very friendly, honest and very Christian. They are always helping out and volunteering. The Mormons I work with are always the hardest workers and always complete their assignments before the deadline. Lastly, EVERY Mormon house I have been to has a large picture of Jesus Christ on the wall. How can they not be Christian. Why can't every body just be nice to them? They have never harmed me.

Great question!

I agree that people should respect everyone else, REGARDLESS of what their faith (or lack thereof) is. Some people probably bash 'mormons' (and/or muslims, Jehovah;s Witnesses, etc, etc) because they disagree with the religion and can't bring themselves to show to respect people that they disagree with.

Although I disagree with the theology of the LDS (Latter Day Saints is the term that most LDS/mormons prefer), I would never dream of treating them any differently then anyone else! Every human being deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. I mean, what good would my beliefs be if they lead me to hate or disrespect others??

Cheers :)

It's not that those who believe in the Mormon faith are bad people or mean, that has nothing to do with faith. Mormons have circumvented the word of God with the views of a false prophet. They have changed the reality of who God is and they've instituted doctrine that glorifies themselves.
The classic calling card of a false prophet is taking an abundance of truth and then changing it just slightly. Whether you've veered off course by a couple of degrees or a huge amount, it no longer represents truth but a lie. The deception of the Mormon church condemns men as if they had rejected God's Son altogether.

Mormons are not bad people. I agree, they are usually nice. However, I live in Utah and get more than my daily doses. Their terribly naïve religion is governing this state. If it wasn’t for “the independent republic of Park City” I would not live here. The religion is a double standard without comparison. At first, they were not allowed to drink Coke, that is until the Mormon church invested in the company. For the Olympics, they also changed some of the liquor laws which they gladly did in the name of money-money-money.

I believe most of the animosity toward Mormons arises from a lack of understanding.

I remember several years ago my father hired a pitching coach for me to become a better baseball player during my high school years. My dad (who was a Mormon) and this pitching coach became very good friends over the course of several months. One day, my dad revealed to his friend that he was a Mormon, and instantly their friendship ceased (and so did my pitching lessons). My pitching coach even told my dad that our family was going to burn in hell. He then gave my dad a book that explained what the Mormons "believe". Of course, the book did not accurately portray what Mormons actually believe.

Unfortunately, as is usually the case with anti-Mormon literature, the book was full of lies and took several quotes from church leaders out of context. It presented a very distorted view of Mormonism. The main goal of anti-Mormon literature is to fool the reader into believing things about Mormons that are not true. The sad thing is that many innocent people are deceived by this type of literature. False rumors are then circulated about the "evils" of Mormonism. Oddly enough, there are several Christian churches out there that actually teach these falsehoods about Mormons to their congregations (yes, I have even witnessed this myself on more than one occasion).

It is my feeling that most people who don't like Mormons have been deceived, and don't know what we really believe.

And, as it turns out, my pitching coach was even a pastor for a local church!

All peoples should be nice to all peoples. But they don't. You know why that is don't you? Its the devil.

If you know anything about religion, you would know if you checked it out that Mormonism is a cult not a religion. You are trying to meld the two together. Like clay and iron, they don't mix. The people maybe the nicest people on the planet, but that's not a reason to loose your soul.><>

You should look into what they believe.. I personally believe they put on a face so to show the world they are the better religion and you should join ours! (my opinion)

Its great there nice and no one is saying there not, its just what the believe and the extents they go to that people are scared of!

I dont' have any problem with the morman religion at all.
However, I do get really tired of having them at my door telling me I'm going to burn in hell. Basically, any religion that shows up at my door (and there have been several), get the same replies,
1st visit: nicely decline,
2nd visit: ask if I should bring the goat or if they supply those. That usually sends them away for atleast a couple of months, lol.
But honestly I do agree for the most part they are great people with strong convictions.

Most people think they are feeling better about their faith when they criticize the faith of others in a hateful way. Most of the reasons why we make things difficult for people who generally are nice is because we guilt for own lack of ability to act the same way. Its is called jealousy fueled by admiration.
