Does God want us to pray before every meal? Even when we eat a candy?

Nope. I don't read in the Bible anywhere that this is being demanded. But thankfulness and gratitude to God is something that is clearly being taught. How one expresses that thankfulness and grateful attitude is one's prerogative. I mean, you can wake up in the morning and thank God in advance for all the food you are going to eat. Or you can thank God before you sleep for all the food you have eaten. Or you can thank God just before you gobble up the food on the plate. Hey, it's entirely up to you how you express your thankfulness and gratefulness to God. There's no ritual or pattern to it.

Well, to be serious - YES. (I will use supper as the meal of discussion)
Saying thank you for the meal, to your parents (the cook) and to GOD (the provider) would be courteous and seems something that should be dome.
Meal time is a time of gathering the family together and enjoying the food and company. Rejoicing in the fact that all are there, not hurt, and that it was a good day full of interesting events - to share.
Snacks are not usually set in a gathering, but yes even alone you can thank GOD for the snack. If you are at a gathering - prayer could be a good thing. Provided you have a good idea of the make-up of the gathering of people. Perhaps in silence - could make you more comfortable. (or there's a group leader.)
I have never heard of praying before a snack at the movie, or at a sports event - but I know people pray for a good movie and for their team to win. (People pray they don't get caught eating in class, or when moms in the other room, and they are eating minutes before supper, everyday.)
SO PRAY EVERYDAY FOR EVERYTHING.
Also if you see or think you saw a miracle - say a prayer of thanks for that. These miracles are small most of the time, (no pop quiz, the cool girl/boy knows your name, etc.) sometimes a large one enters you life - those are easy to recognize. Saying thank you to GOD is the right thing to do.

He wants us to pray always. To have a prayer in our hearts all the time. But a formal prayer in the morning at meal times and before bed usually suffices. He would like us to have at least one family prayer a day also.

Probably to bless the fact that the meals we have are just as much serving sin to a lustful appetite by using complex recipies and herbs and spices. I would assume....i'm not solid though. I do know that if the world was vegetarian, it would repalce a lot of agression.

You will be one of God's best creatures if you always remember him and thank him for his blessings. So if you can, pray God before doing anything.

I think it's ironic that so many people give thanks for food that doesn't nourish their bodies, but instead leads to health problems like diabetes/obesity, heart disease, and even cancer.

I wonder if God appreciates being thanked for foods like these. Maybe eating foods that our bodies were meant to eat would be more of a "thank you" to God, even if it wasn't spoken.

Nope!

The God wants us to Communicate with HIM often.

There is no particular edict that says anything about meal time..
Sure doesn't hurt to say THANK YOU though.

Are you a believer? If not, then it doesn't matter.

You are to pray without ceasing if you are a born again believer. If not , you need to start with the prayer of repentance.

God wants us to pray whenever we are truly thankful for His blessings. you don't have to pray if you know you don't mean it...God is a living spirit so He knows when you are insincere
