Lets see. Puerto Rico. The population is highly educated. Starvation is not happening in Peurto Rico. The average Puerto Rican has the same standard of living as the avg American. Which is far better than the standard of living than any in South America or Central American except for the most wealthy in those nations.

Puerto Ricans since becoming part of America have never had to fear from secret police. They have never been dragged out of thier homes and shot in the middle of the night during political unrest.

Puerto Ricans live all over the US and have little difficulty finding work or fitting into US culture. They have made significant contributions to the US at all levels.

Now lets look at Mexico over the same time period.

There have been several coups, one bout of mass genocide, several bouts of smaller genocide. Mexicans of various ethnic backgrounds have been dragged out of thier homes and executed for merely being the wrong ethnic group or belonging to the wrong political organization. Mexicans for most of this time period lived under a dictatorship or pretty close to one under the PRI. The middle class in Mexico live what would be considered in poverty in the US or Puerto Rico. The poor live in third world conditions. Mexicans are generally poorly educated. Few have any hope of gaining higher education except sneaking into the US and using fake paperwork to steal an education from America. Huge numbers of Mexicans are scattered all accross the world as economic refugees. Most Americans living abroad could make a decent wage at home but are abroad for unique opportunities, because thier company asked them to work there or to make the big bucks.

The avg Mexican to spit has to bribe some Gov official or another. The avg Mexican has to resort to bribary. In America you have to be a big company before you start getting into bribary. Corruption is pervasive up and down in Mexican society. It is just starting to bloom in the US.

In Mexican jails the wealthy have it made. The poor recieve harsh and inhumane treatment. Some Mexican facilities you can even get hookers if you have enough money.

So if Mexico were annexed by the US in the Mexican American war the average Mexican would be healthier, wealthier and far more educated. They would have grown up with good heal and education systems. In jail you get pretty much the same treatment though the wealthy in the US are far less likely to ever see a day of jail. The average American goes thier entire life without bribing anybody. So if Mexico had been annexed then they too would spend thier entire lives without bribing anybody. It would be Mexico not the US facing the imigration problem as Mexico would have a ton of jobs and being predominiently Spanish speaking you would see the majority of Latin American refugees flocking ot Mexico.

Mexico's vast resources would have been tapped for the benifit of both the US and Mexico.

On the downside there would likely be a very strong Mexican independence group so terror events or a guerilla war would likely be a day to day reality for those in Mexico. Like Puerto Rico the nation would likely be spread evenly among the three possibilities of Independence, stay the same, become officially part of America. So the gurillas would face the same reluctance from the populace that Puerto Rican independence groups face today. The violence would be more wide spread though. A large number of Puerto Ricans came to Puerto Rico fleeing ethnic violence in places like Peru and Mexico. Mexico would not have the same cautions built in by people who remember that tales of thier grandfather of having to flee in the middle of the night to avoid the entire family being executed.

History has many lessons to teach us all. Wish more people indulged in it. A number of our problems would not be so if people did.

The United States acquired Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War (1898). As part of the peace treaty, Spain ceded Puerto Rico and the Philippines, and gave Cuba its independence (with American oversight). I very highly doubt that another Mexican War is in the making.

Did you study any of this garbage for facts or are they not important to a flag burning TW*%T like you? Listen genius, I served my time for my country. Don't need to, all of Mexico is hell bent on living here at Americans expense. Your ignorant comments are welcome, because it shows that you refuse to look up history to find answers to your questions. Your agenda is to put down America, and it does not work and most of us see right through your point of view.

Mexico would have a fit.

The drug lords would be very unhappy.
