He's so cute.. His name is Chato, which, in spanish means something close to Flat, because of his flat face. He's a persian.
But since I brought him home he's been meowing.
Like mad. The only way to make him stop is to go with him. Is he trying to get some attention, or whats going on?

Oh, and I'd also like to know how to get him to use the litterbox. He does know how to, but how do I make him know where it is and what it is?

He's in a new place, so he's a little freaked out. If he's meowing and walking away, looking to see if you're following, he's trying to show you something -- or just wants you nearby for comfort. Give him lots of attention and try to do what he wants -- when you can figure it out. It's just going to take several days for him to acclimate to his new home AND to train his new human!!
Litter box: Just show him where it is and put him in it. Walk away slowly so he can get out and follow you, and make sure the way back to it stays open and clear. Once he knows where it is and that he's expected to use it, nature should take over.
Good luck!

Being that he is only 21/2 months old, he is trying to adjust to his new environment. Let him follow you around and if he needs to be held, then hold him if you are just sitting around the house. right now he needs a lot of reassurance that he is in a loving and trusting home and one that is safe. If you have ever spent time away from your mom as a little kid, then you know what is like to miss her. If he is leading you somewhere, just follow him...he is trying to tell you something. Keep your eyes and observation skills alert. You will find out what he wants soon enough.
As for the litterbox, make sure he knows where it is and then put him in it the first time. After that he should automatically go. Keep the litterbox away from where he will be eating. Cats do not like to have their food and litterbox in the same area. Make sure that there is nothing blocking the cats access to the litterbox. Hope this helps you out

your kitty is in a new place, away from mommy so he needs to get adjusted. Give him some time. If you think he's too stressed out, call your vet and find out if he recommends you to use Feliway spray to help the transition go smoothly. It's good stuff, people use it all the time for their cats. You can get it at petsmart.
As for the litterbox situation, several times a day, pick up your kitten and put him in the litterbox. He will get the scent of the litter and used to where it is. Also, do not use clumping litter. Kittens are known to eat litter, and this litter is really bad for them. It hardens in their systems!

He is crying. He should adjust, though. It isn't unlike a child at a new sitters house, but he'll live there now. He is in an unfamiliar house with different people, new smells, and everything he is used to is gone. For the litterbox, try leaving him in the room with the box and food in it for a day or two. Then let him have free reign of the house. He won't forget where to find the box.

in case you ask a question, do no longer disrespect people who answer. You wanted journey, top? Get him neutered. I volunteer in an animal shelter, and that they are overloaded with undesirable cats and kittens. extra desirable than a million/2 are euthanized, that's very heartbreaking. additionally, as quickly as your kitten has sprayed the homestead, it will be very complicated to eliminate the smell. Plus, he will continually undergo in recommendations this habit. If the meowing became no longer sexual, in keeping with possibility he felt unhappy for some reason. in keeping with possibility he wanted to pass outdoors (do no longer enable him). basically provide him a good homestead, and he would be happy a good style of the time.

Take him to the litterbox every hour. It does not take long for them to find it on their own!!!!!!!
It is common for them to meow and seem "lost" since leaving his former home. He will settle in in a day or so. Stay with him some, but then let him cope a little on his own. He will be fine!!!

He wants attention. This is why it is best to buy cats in twos. My male started to get quite aggressive till we got him a littermate to play with.
