It's evolutionary - humans need to have sex to carry on the species. If we didn't enjoy having sex, we'd die out. Therefore, people who don't like sex are less likely to have it, and thus less likely to have kids. Those who do like having sex and have it a lot are more likely to have a lot of kids, all of whom are more likely to enjoy having sex themselves.
In short - we're programmed to think it's fun. :)

How is it icky???? If people actually showered, it wouldn't be smelly, and why is sticky a problem when it feels that good. You must be terrible at it.
