Of course, just don't go sleep with the first girl that passes by. You can only control your behavior, not that of others, so as long as you are "well behaved" while out, there shouldn't be a problem...except getting up for church on Sunday

What does it mean to call yourself a Christian? It seems pretty logical to me that to identify yourself as a Christian is to at least in some small way, identify yourself with Christ (the word Christian actually means Christlike). If you dislike an "artist"...oh let's say...Paris Hilton for example. If you dislike her, her acting "abilities", her personality, her wardrobe etc..you probably won't be joining the ranks of those who do like her. Why? Because those people are generally going to emulate her and try to be like her. It wouldn't make any sense for you to join the fan club with no desire to admire! My point is, to be a Christian (a real Christian) is to follow the lifestyle that's written out in the Bible. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey my commands" (John 14:15). Christ's command for the lives of his people is that they live holy (1 Peter 1:15-16,Hebrews 12:14). So what if you don't do those things but just like to go and watch? The Bible says about that, that true religion is to keep yourself free from the evil influence of the world. (James 1:27). The bottom line is this; you are - or will be - what you hang out with. If you constantly bombard your thoughts with bars and clubs, then you will live that kind of life and suffer. However, if you fill your mind with the things of God, you will live HIS life and have peace (Galatians 6:8). So sure you could CALL yourself a Christian and do whatever you want (Pr 21:2), but the truth is if we live/do the opposite of what he tells us, we can't truly be like Christ...or shall we say ChristLike...or as we DO say Christian.

I believe that this is a personal conviction. But if you went to a bar, would you want Jesus, the Lord and Savior of your life to be there beside you? The world has so many temptations...I believe it's definitly a no-no if there's a possibility that you'll stumble. In the Bible it says that even if you look upon a woman lustfully, you have already committed adultry with her in your heart. Don't put yourself in an area where you'll easily stumble, for we as Christians are called to be in the world, but not of it.

Only if you are abiding by the rules of Christianity as a Christian. As a Baha'i we're encouraged to go to Bars and clubs from the Manifestation but we're supposed to be spiritually strong enough morally to show the potency and transformational power of the Faith.

I have a firm belief in God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, and I would like you to know that I go to clubs to socialize, I'm no judge. I I don't get stupid drunk or anything either.I enjoy the company of others and truely believe in "fellowship". People sang, danched and were "Merry" in Christ's days and I will celebrate life, while making "Joyful" noises. Reverend M. Watkins. ULC Ministries

If I go to a club/bar, it will be with my husband to just have a good time and listen to the music. I don't drink simply b/c I prefer the taste of soda. He might have a few beers, but at 285 pounds he's not bloody likely to get smashed. I really don't see the harm in it....?

There is absolutely, positively no reason for you not to go to a club or a bar if you wish to do so. It's not where you go that matters, it what you do when your there.
You should not ask questions such as this. By asking this question you challenge some ultra conservative Christians to seek biblical verses that could be used to condemn you for doing such things. It is no one else's job to judge you, but they'll sure try.

What?!?!? When Jesus suffered so much for us, should we be going out and having fun? Would Jesus go out to clubs? Would Jesus spend money on liquor? Don't we have a lot of better things to do with our time like helping poor children? No, if you believe all the bs Christians spout, they don't ever have a human moment.

I think that is more of a personal question. I personally wouldnt, but that is just my personal conviction. How do you feel about it? If you are feeling really guilty and like you shouldnt, then dont. If you are just going and am not going to do anything regretable and dont feel like you shouldnt go, then go. Just ask God. I hope you make the right choice.
