if i remember correctly when i went to basic i remember reading that the women had to keep it under their hats for safety reasons (for example, when frawling under barbed wire, it may get caught)

If someone's' genetics enables there hair to advance a quickly price and they have short hair- and they want to have lengthy hair, the precedence is harm. maximum folk use perms which completely wreck the hair. It won't be able to get replaced decrease back except by ability of reducing and putting out over. the precedence is-maximum in no way make it by ability of the growing to be out degree without getting pissed off and resorting decrease back to chemically detrimental the hair. Its an undesirable cycle. On suitable of that many black human beings imagine that because their hair is kinky that which means they want the flat iron on severe even as a low or medium putting receives it instantly.

It depends on what service. If she is going into the Navy, it has to be short enough to not touch the bottom of a collared shirt. She could probably get a perm to make it look shorter. As long as her hair is within standards, they will not make her cut it. If she does have to cut it, they are not going to take clippers to her hair, she will just be told to go and have it cut on base. For Air force and Marines, they just have to be able to braid it and put it up neatly and I'm not sure about the Army. Have her call her recruiter and they will tell her the details. Good Luck!

You are not required to have a sertain length hair. It must have a female look to it though...you can't shave it! that's against the rules. But during basic you must have it in a tight bun, or if it's short it can't touch the bottom of your collar. If her hair is dyed any "un natural" colors like pink, blue, etc, I sugest that she has it a natural color going in. I have black hair and I had red high lights... it's not bad, it just gives the TI's something to notice you more.

She will be required to keep it off of her collar. They won't cut it for her, but they want it off her collar. Most women in the military wear it done up tightly in a bun or wrapped braids or something like that, so if she isn't used to tying it up - she'd better start practicing! A pony tail won't do because it can just flop around. It must be close to her head so it can't get caught on or in anything that might cause her harm. Trust me - they're going to get down to telling her what color hairpins she can wear. Just tell her to be prepared to keep her hair tied up and close to her head.

My hair was in the middle of my back and the T.I. said "Airman, you had better get that hair up or we will cut it for you". I learned very quickly how to put my hair into a bun. lol...I still have the hair pins and I think about that and laugh to this day.
I also came out of basic with great nails. Still have long hair and great nails to this day. The rest of me has gone to hell though.

depends on the branch. In the army, a female's hair cannot touch the bottom of her collar while standing at the position of attention in the class A dress uniform.

There are regulations regarding this. I think it's 3 inches in bulk and not to touch the shoulders. They are especially strict at basic training.

No, they won't cut it. She will be required to have it up though, I don't think it can touch the sholders. Probably a bun at the nape would be good. That way she can still wear her hat.

No, those days are gone. She just needs to keep it pulled back in a ponytail and kept under her hat.
