Does your body adapt to loosing weight? What I mean is, over the last few months I have lost over 35 pounds by working out 6 times a week, and eating limited calories. Does your body ever adapt to this if you do the same thing everyday? If your body needs say 2500 calories, and you take in 1500, over the course of months or year, will your body learn to stay a same weight with only 1500 calories.
I currently am 6 ft 2, and weigh 280 pounds, and last nov. I was at 317. Over the last 2 months I have done nothing different, but my weight has stayed the same. Is there anything that your body does to adapt, and if so, what can you do to change it?
Thank you,

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying. Loose as much as you want to !
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !
P.S
Regular active exercise is advised with all weight loosing medicines and remedies :-) Take care

Yes it does. Your body is increadibly adapatable. This a problem faced with dieters. You have hit a plateau.
I don't know if you have been getting advice from a professional. But this my 2cts worth.
Increase your intensity of your workouts. By intensity, I don't mean increasing the number of workout days or longer gym time. It means doing more work or using more effort over the same time.
Working out 6 days? Are you in bodybuiding? If not, I'll suggest you do 3 days weights and 3 days areobic alternately. Take a complet rest for one day. You need to let your body, brain and nerves recover from the workouts.
Are you at the correct calorie level? Don't restrict your calories until you reached so low a level that your body goes into famine mode. In famine mode, you will lose muscle, not fat and you will find that your weight loss will stopped as your body starts to adapt to the famine mode. Take a diet break on Sunday or whichever day that is convenient to you. Diet for the balance 6 days at the correct calorie level.
I hope this works for you.

Congratulations on your successful weight loss! There is much to consider with your situation. Are you consuming 1500 calories a day? For a person of your height, and since your male, you may need more calories than you're allowing yourself. If your body does not get enough calories, your metabolism will slow down, dampering weight loss.
For exercise....what are you doing? Cardio? Have you added weight training? Weight training speeds the metabolism. You may even gain weight at first (muscle mass) but within a month or two your body will burn calories eaten more efficiently. Also, you may want to alter your workout. If you're doing the same cardio everyday, your body gets accustomed to it.
Six months ago I started a new exercise and eating regimen and had the same situation. I consulted a nutritionist and trainer and I was able to alter my exercise and increased my caloric intake and I am back to losing weight! Good luck and check out these websites...they've been helpful to me and they're free!

Congratulations on yor weight loss, and Yup you are at a plateau. You don't say how many calories you ar putting into your body, but if you don't feed it enough, it will start burning calories more efficiently (You would be less likely to starve in a famine).
Try changing your routine, change your cardio, if you use the treadmill for 30 minutes, try using the stairstepper a few times a week.
Something to surprise your body, I know it sounds weird, but that is what my Weight Watcher leader said. And she should know.
Also, try changing your meals a little, if you have only protein for breakfast, had in some carbs, or change your meals. Add in a lot of fiber.

It sure does adapt. Called a plateau. All you can do is exercise more and look at what you are eating (maybe cut down on fat and carbs and sugar if you are eating any of that).
I barely eat at all and I only lose a couple of lbs here and there and normally end up gaining it back when I end up getting hungry and eating a little bit more. I don't think I get anywhere near 1,000 calories. So there's an extreme example of what you're talking about.
I am thinking I must do the same as what I told you--stay away from carbs & sugar and exercise more. Now, to get up the energy to do so...oh dear. I feel lazy.

No, you will eventuall continue to lose weight until you reach a balance where your body can subsist on only 1500 calories a day. What is happening now is that your metabolism has slowed to the point where it can subsist on the current caloric intake.
