Our kitten is going to be a house cat so we don't have to worry about those monthly applications of flee products but when we brought her home I've noticed couple flees on her already. I need something that would kill them all and fast. Can I do something at home? I know there're special pills for dogs but what about cats?

the best thing for a kitten thats too young for the flea preventative
is for you to bathe it with dandruff shampoo, it kills all the fleas instantly, be sure to rinse well and keep kitten warm till she dries off ( you might use hairdryer if she will let you)
good luck

first of all how old is the kitten? they have to be a certain age before you use the drops like advantage ect. I would NEVER recommend a flea bath. my son did that and the cat almost died from an alergic reaction and than lost most of its hair. please do not treat the cat until you have checked with the vet and give him the age and weight of the kittten. and above all when you get rid of the fleas keep the kitten inside they live longer. also remember the flea causes tape worm so ask your vet about this also . fleas multiply very fast so get to the vet soon or call for meds by weight and age you can also spray around the areas where kitty has been but again ask your vet what is the safest to use.good luck

Depends on how young the kitten is, but as far as I know there isn't anything you can do at home. Make a vet appointment, the vet can advise on which flea control product. You'll even have some left over, just in case you need it in the future. From time to time even indoor cats can get fleas, someone can bring just one flea from outside on their clothing and that's all it takes. I'm glad to hear your kitty will be an inside cat......good for you!

Even if your cat stays inside all the time you still need to contact your vet for his or hers advice on what is best for the fleas on your kitten. I use Advantage on my kitten once a month and my kitten and home are free of fleas. My kitten also stays inside all the time.

Call the vet and get some advantage or revolution. YOu need to get rid of the fleas right away or you will have a major problem on your hands. Revolution might be a good option as it also will take care of any worms your kitten might have.

I would also recommend Revolution, it is a heartworm and flee preventative all in one. Our dog had fleas once and as soon as I applied the Revolution, it is a liquid that goes on the back of their neck, the fleas disappeared. Also, buy a flea comb they will remove any live fleas.

flee collars usually do the trick. my cat had flees last year and within a month of using the collar, all flees were gone!

I have used dawn dish detergent on my kitty's and it worked great! Just make sure you don't get it in their eyes and rinse off very well. Hope this works for you.
