I get up two and three times a night to pee. I don't have to pee a lot during the day. Maybe every 4-6 hours. I tried not drinking anything 2 hours before bed, but sometimes this doesn't help. I don't get why I need to get up more than once during the night to pee. If I haven't drank anything for hours, wouldn't it all come out the first time?

It's not an infection. I know what that feels like! I also don't drink tea or coffee anywhere near bedtime. I think I wake up to pee, but sometimes other things wake me up and I have to pee.

It seems like if i fall asleep for any period of time, even five minutes, i wake up really hungry and having to pee.

The kidneys are constantly working to remove toxins and fluid from the body, and it doesn't matter how much or how little you drink, as far as their ongoing functioning is concerned. Of course, if you drink more, there is more fluid to be removed. I would suggest seeing your doctor to rule out prostate problems if you're a guy, or an overactive bladder, more common in women. Chances are, there's nothing really wrong if you don't have to go a lot during the day. But if getting up several times a night is disturbing your sleep, you should really check with your M.D. There are medicines that can help.

I'm an 83 year old man - I pee OK during the day - but at night it is difficult to go and often it's just a dribble.
Sometimes, if I can't sleep I get up and have a small cup of tea. I can then have a decent pee - go to bed - and get to sleep

I usually have to get up pretty frequently during the night if I drink tea or soda in the evening...even if I only drink small amounts. I can drink one glass of tea and pee 8 glasses worth. If you need to drink something in the hours before sleep...try milk.

Catyloveanime said to wear Depends and just start peeing in bed instead of getting up to pee. I'm not sure how serious she was, but that's just lazy & gross. Depends are meant for people who either really can't hold it or really can't get up. Save depends for your latter years.

Are you waking up cuz you have to pee, or are you waking up and then, since you are awake, you realize you have to go? I used to wake up due to stress and anxiety and would get up to go to the bathroom.(cuz I was up.)
If you really have to go and it's what's waking you, I'd see a doctor. You might want to try relaxing and drinking chamomile tea or something to help you sleep better, and see if you are still waking up at night.

not if it's milk you were drinking prior to bedtime. for some reason milk stays in your bladder of tissues or something. if it's beer then you'll be pissin all nite long now. if it's just anything to drink maybe stop at 6pm. maybe ask your doctor cuz they can give you a pill to help with that
