I sorta let my imagination be in my real life. It keeps my spirits up and keeps me from being depressed and actually strengthens my creativity. It motivates me a little, but I also gotta live real life too and that keeps me from, well 'keeping my head in the clouds for too long' Merge your imagination with you real life. Paint your own car, decorate your own office, give your life a little creative touch. A spark, it won't hurt.

You are right. The mind doesn''t know the difference between real and imaginary. If you don't have a real place to take your mind to, take it to the place you'd like to be. Visualize the way you want to be and soon you will be that way. Proof that it works. POWs visualized playing golf, after three years of being in a hole and returning to civilization. They played golf for the first time in three years and played better.
