I have been using "In my opinion" for as long as I can remember but a friend recently corrected me and told me that I should say, "On my opinion"
I still think "in my opnion" is the right way to say it

So who's right?

Never heard anyone say "on my opinion" before...I also use "in my opinion". I believe it is the correct one.

Based "on my opinion", it is "in my opinion" that is correct...but it's only my opinion, of course. I am into my opinion...not on it...but I'll get right on it, just in case.

I've never heard "on my opinion" before. Unless it's something like "You should not blow up this ship based on my opinion alone..." or something like that. What's the context?
