Trust your parents--they are protective of you and your reputation. Boys, even nice ones, aren't--they don't know how to be yet.
don't get into a word debate--if your parents don't want you having a relationship with a boy yet, then don't have one, yet call it something else. Earn your parent's trust now, it will pay off in the long run in more ways than you can know at this point!

I'm thinking that the reason your dad doesn't want you to date yet is because he doesn't want you to get involved in any kind of intimate relations with a boy. Therefore I don't see any harm in just talking on the phone.
Also, I doubt your parents are going to buy the "studying" thing, especially knowing this dude wants to date you. Maybe you can reason with them though and ask if it's cool to hang out with him, but with a group of friends, in a public place... that kind of thing. At least then you two can spend some time together in person.

How old are you? I dont think just talking on the phone is dating. But the boy specifically said he would date you over the phone. So he said he would date you. So i would take that as secretly dating without your dad knowing, yes.

No matter what you do, avoid doing anything sneaky or dishonest. Your father only wants to protect you, and that is his job as a father. If you want to talk to this boy, follow your father’s rules. If you want to hangout with this boy, make some points by asking your father to meet the boy. One way to do that is by having your father accompany the two of you to grab dinner at McDonald’s or some other fast food restaurant. This gives your father an opportunity to meet the boy, form an opinion about him, and grow to like the boy. By you suggesting this, you make major brownie points with your father. After your father meets him, perhaps you and the boy could hangout during times when your parents are at home with you.
Good luck!

It's not dating but it is sort of under handed... I don't think I'd make my daughters use speaker phone though. I'd say go for it, have fun coming up with code words!!

This sounds innocent enough to me. I know you've heard it all before but I suppose your dad is just trying to protect you. I'm sure that talking on the phone is fine, you're getting to know each other better anyway. Just be sure you behave & show your dad that he can trust you & your judgment & he won't make you wait forever to date (hopefully!) Good luck with everything!

No its not dating, but your dad is probably worried about phone s*x. But if your using code words that is being sneaky and if you are lying about studying your dad wont trust you if he finds out.

Well if he said that he was gonna DATE you over the phone, it's possible. Anyway I think you should talk to your parents if you think they are too strict on you about that stuff. It sounds pretty bad but it depends on how old you are.

That's not really dating, no. Anything involving "code words," though, is sneaking around, and that's a bad idea. It's only going to lead to trouble.
How about just chatting online? Will your dad allow that?
