Its kind of stupid, God isn't up nor down the next life is all around us, we're in the next life, we just happen to be separated by a veil because we are living in this life. The veil eventually gets lifted from everyone though.

I disagree with your question and or statement disguised as a question. I don't curse God.
When I pray:
Sometimes, I pray looking up, sometimes with my head bowed, sometimes eyes wide open. Sometimes out loud...sometimes silent...
I'm not a woman that just prays. I am a prayerful woman!
When was the last time God / Jesus ROCKED your world? If not recently...it's time to re-new your relationship!
Grace to you and God Bless!

We look down as an act of respect i imagine. Looking up could be taken as an act of defiance. Although I believe it is OK to pray in any posture that feels reverent to you.

Down cast eyes are a sign of humility. When we are angry we tend to be confrontational.
