I feel that! This aunt and uncle always ask my privacy thing, like how much my salary is, what kind of benefits i can get from my job, or what my bf has in his financial or my sister's salary.

They are the reasons i feel not want to go back to my hometown. Once i honestly told them my salary, which at that time i was very proud to earn it for its triple of the standard salary. Their comments i got is that the salary is so small because her relative in same job got 10x of my salary and fyi, her relative is 40 years older than i am and he's 30 years work experience (a manager!).

Now i prefer to keep silent and just smile when they ask, but they will keep annoying me with that silly questions.

Honey this question is full of grammatical errors which makes me think you're very young. When your aunt and uncle ask you about your private business tell them what you want them to know and then say....I'd rather not talk about _________. They can't force this information from you.

Don't live your life around them. If you Really feeel that bad about it don't visit them or even just tell them they next time they ask that you would rather not talk about it with them because it isnt really any of their business. If they get offend atart asking them questions like they are asking you turn the tables and maybe they will get the point you are trying to make. No one in my family has even known how much I make even back when I was 15. Its really something you shouldnt need to talk about with anyone except for a live in spouce or your husband.

You are just going to have to chill, because getting mad isn't going to help. The next time they ask, just say CALMLY, "Every time I tell you something like that, you just use it to hurt my feelings. There is no need for you to know that, so please don't ask again." If they keep it up, just ask them why they enjoy hurting you. And make no mistake, they do like it - for some folks, it's their biggest thrill to get someone riled up. They have no right to make you feel uncomfortable in your own town.

Well to a lot of family members, those are not considered private questions. You just need to learn to ignore them. If they ask again, just say enough to keep you fed and happy.

There's probably nothing that you can say to be polite and keep peace in the family. Just try to smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?" If that doesn't work, try the old, "If I were to tell you, I'd have to kill you." (It's and oldie but a goodie.)

insecure "buttinskis". Just give them a joke answer, and change the subject. Petty people, be glad they are not neighbors!!

Your success is somehow an indicator of their lack of success, so anything you say they will belittle.

Take pity on them.

Just look at them and say "That's quite personal, but I appreciate your concern and rest assured I'm doing just fine" and give 'em that smile.
