The Ten Commandments are not a joke, and neither are the Beatitudes. Jesus was also not a homosexual person. The wonderful thing about the salvation that Jesus provided is that any despicable, horrible person is able to receive it. Once that person acknowledges Jesus as Lord and repents, usually that person will NOT want to remain in his or her former sinful nature. Speaking for myself, I feel ashamed when I sin, and I actually have to TRY not to sin sometimes. If you feel that the Ten Commandments are a joke, you are free to break each one. There will be consequences, both immediate (legal) and future (God's judgement), but you have free will. Go ahead.

Wow....what an interesting question. Where are you getting your information from? I understand that you see this system of things being full of violence, hatred, and just pure evil. However, since you always seem to have such good questions I would like to invite you to look up answers to some of your own questions such as about the 10 Commandments....look up John 14:21 I espcially like this one because it specifically addresses your main question of killing and torturing others. In this scripture it clearly states that if we follow these commandments that's how we show true love for him, romans 3:23, and last 1 Corin 6:9-11

It seems that really you may have missed the point. The Commandment are Gods standards (Gods Laws). Man breaks them. If one law is broken it is the same as all broken. Doesn't matter how big or small.

God put fourth guidelines for man to know, we however make our own choices. In a nut shell, something or someone had to pay the price for breaking Gods Law. Well I can tell you that there is nothing that I can or ever will do that will be good enough to pay for my crimes. Jesus was blameless and yet he was tried, convected and excuited for my crimes. Why????? Because I couldn't??? (true I couldn't) To free me from the punishment of my crimes, not to free me from the Law but to fulfill the law. He didn't take the law away because if not for the law how would I know the stealing was wrong. No he didn't take away the law, but what he did was make a path the anyone who chooses can be made acceptable before God, not by anything they do but by what Jesus did.

I don't know if that is something that you can accept or not, really don't matter. I have accepted it on faith, don't exept you to accept or even understand that either. But it is my choice. I can't make anyone believe as I do, not even going to try, it won't make seen to you. But if anyone asks then I will tell them what I believe and thats it.

We all have choices to make in life, this is just one that I have made.

I think you have got it all wrong buddy...I dunno if that is a pathetic attempt to isult us, or are you genuinely asking a question and in need for an answer???

I do not get what your argument is...are you saying that Christ died so that we can sin all we want and find salvation??? If that is your simplistic thinking, then I am affraid that is so far off the truth, that it is a joke.

Christ did not die for us to break the ten commandment. He died so that IF we do break them (which most people do because no one is perfect), we still have a chance, but it does not mean we go out and intentionally do the wrong thing because Christ died for us...U have got it all wrong pal...I suggest you get your facts straight first prior to taking cheap shots.

Oh, and another thing, provided that I did not insult you nor your beliefs, I would appreciate it if you were to withdraw the comment about Christ being a 'homo'...that is not nice, and it is pathetic, insulting and leads to no result except you looking pretty foul mouthed.

God bless ya pal...good luck!

The 10 commandments were to be followed perfectly somethiong we and God knew. Jesus Christ died so that we could be saved by grace, accepting the fact that we cannot earn our way into heaven through the commandments, so that we can recieve the gift freely.

We will fall and break the commandments and that is why he died. because if he didnt we'd be held accountable for not upholding the law in its entirety

The 10 commandments are summarized: Love God above all and your neighbor as yourself. If you do that, you will be doing what the 10 commandments say. Just because a follower of Jesus can be assured that his sins are forgiven, doesn't mean he/she is free to continue in sin. He still has to love God above all and his neighbor as himself. If he is not seriously trying to obey that command, then I think it is safe to say he is not a follower of Jesus.

no they aren't a joke, and they were given just like laws are given today.... don't tell me you always drive the speed limit??? anyway, God just wants us to try to be good people.... but we can't, at least not here on earth, there is to much temptation and stuff... anyway, so he sent his son to die for our sins.... wasn't that nice of him??? anyway i think so...
so Jesus came and tried to enlighten us and show us the right way and some believed and some didn't just like God said they would, and he died on the cross because God knew that we were unable to live like he wanted, but he loved us anyway and wanted to give us a chance.... none can enter heaven except through Jesus Christ....

I've always wondered why people think men would make up some god and some religion with such rules and things that are impossible for us to live up to.... i mean if we were gonna just make it up wouldn't we have made it a little easier on ourselves....
just something to think about.

ITS NORMAL THAT WE ALL DON'T HAVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW JESUS AND THE TEN COMMANDMENTS GO TOGETHER, SO THE EASIEST ANSWER IS TO GO TO THE BEST SOURCE, THE BIBLE, READ MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE, AND JOHN. THESE WILL GIVE YOU THE PROPER VIEW AND EVEN BETTER, IF YOU ASK FOR GOD TO HELP YOU SEE THE TRUTH, HE WILL DO THAT AND YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH ON REPENTANCE, AND HOW WE TRULY ARE FORGIVEN AND CAN GO TO HEAVEN.

The commandments are useful guides to living, and Jesus used them only when he taught as a good Jewish Rabbi.
