They were alive looooong before humans and then the whole little "Adam and Eve" thing couldn't be possible otherwise they would be living at the same time. I know the creation story is just supposed to be a story to help us explain our existence... but if you do take it as a factual event... how do you explain dinosaurs??

The Catholic Church doesn't explain anything and what's worse is that it's followers are not encouraged to ask, so it's a non-issue. Anything that cannot be explained is answered with: "You must have faith."

It is not the job of the Catholic Church to explain dinosaurs.

The Catholic Church does not take the story of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe it tells religious truth not historical fact.

The religious truth is that God created everything and declared all was good.

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation.

At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church explains dinosaurs the same way scientists do - they evolved from archosaurs in the mid-Triassic, about 230 million years ago.

The Catholic Church generally accepts the theory of evolution, as explained by Pope John Paul II in his address to the Academie Francaise. In fact, a Catholic Priest named Gregor Mendel is the second most important scientist in the history of the theory of evolution (Mendel discovered how inheritance works in the late 19th century.)

The Priests tried to proselytize the dinosaurs until a couple of priests were eaten. They got even by taken all mention of dinosaurs out of the Catholic Bible.

The Catholic church does not dictate that its followers believe only in Creation story. They have stated that there is room for both creation and evolution.

God created dinosaurs. How do you know they did not live in peace with Adam & Eve. I don't know about that seven day stuff because a day can be a lifetime in God's time. God is the creator of heaven, earth and all things!

Dinosaurs have nothing to do with Catholicism. They were a natural creation, so there is no conflict.
