From the time I can remember, almost until I moved out (at 18) no matter if it was a school night or not, our bedtime was 9pm. And we better have our eyes closed, not just laying in bed. lol. My parents were strict with me, and now my sister (16 yrs) Comes and goes as she pleases, stays up/out until all hours of the night... Drives me crazy b/c I could never get away with that... but, I'm a little off subject. lol. I still think 9 pm is a decent hour, because that way they get all the sleep they need before starting school the next day. Good luck

11...hmm that is about 6th or 7th grade? I would say at 9 or 9:30. They say this age needs about 8 hours of sleep. What time does school start? how long does it take to get ready in the morning? do the math to allow 8 hours of nighty night

G'day Kool,
Thank you for the question.
It depends on the family but I would think that 9 to 10pm would be reasonable time.
Nikki got best answer to a similar question by suggesting 10pm.
Most of the answers to the question were in the range 9 to 10. Children at that age need at least 8 hours of sleep and it is also the cutoff for television. Kids that age may want to stay up later but will sometimes wilt.
Thanks for your question.

it depends on the kid. Do you have trouble waking up in the morning or sleep thru some of your classes? If so then you should go to bed eariler than you have been.
If you are an early riser regardless of the bedtime then you should be allowed to stay up til at least ten.
My son is a rare breed, he will go to bed at seven pm if he's tired. His bedtime is ten but he rarely ever stays up that late. His body gets tired and he just says "good night". He's a morning person he's up before dawn usually even if there is no reason to be so.
So my thoughts are it depends on the kid.

8 hours of sleep is always recommended, but it has been said that 6 hours is good enough. I make sure my child goes to bed at 10pm. The reason is because school lasts until 3, then there's afterschool program is until 6. So they have 4 hours to do hw and of course kid time.
