Well, you can help matters by getting an unlisted phone number, or better yet....stick to cell phones. That way you can't be looked up in the phone book. However, if she is determined, there is very little you can really do to avoid her. You could place utilities in someone else's name, but there is the matter of a lease if you are renting. She might be able to look you up on line, and would have an excellent chance of finding you, especially if she pays to find you!
I really don't know a fool proof way to hide from her. If it is that bad, you might seriously consider talking to a lawyer or a private investigator to see if they can give you any solid advice.

sad.
Anyway, without judgment, if you move away from people you have in common you have a shot. She may be able to find you if she's willing to pay a service like People Search.
Think about keeping her out of your life (assuming that's what you want) using some backbone instead of running to hide. You'll feel better for it.
We got my in-laws out of our lives and they live in the same town. I just hung up the phone and shut the door. It took some time but they went away. More interested in a place they could find more drama than they can get at our place. Evil people will gravitate to evil if you give them the chance.

It depends. She can send you a letter and write "Return Service Requested" on the envelope. Then for $.75 USPS will provide her with your new address. So you may not want to file an official change of address, if you think she is smart enough to do that. Just contact your mailers and tell them your new address.
Also, you might want to keep your new address from family members who will tell her where you now live.

It's quite easy actually. If you have a phone or utilities in your current address or even cable...your address will eventually show up on the internet search engines.

Assuming that you are over 18, or an emmancipted minor, then you can keep your phone number and adress unlisted. Beyond that resource, then keep the information to yourself. Do not submit it anywhere you don't have to. Most, if not all agencies that need to have that info are legally bound to not give it out.

I would tell her just incase something happens to somone in your family, even if its her and you need to come home for health reasons or a death in the family. But I understand if you don't want to I didn't tell my dad my new adress when I moved, due to personal issues between us, but heres the thing, he found it out from one of my relatives, which I suppose can happen to you. If you move your mom could probably get your adress from a relative, or if she went to EXTREME lenghts a private investigator. Good Luck!!!

Make sure that your phone number is unlisted. Don't let the phone company publish your address. (They do that. Switchboard.com has addresses for people with unlisted phone numbers.) Don't let your address be posted on the web anywhere. Tell everyone you know that you don't want her to have it.
