Are we still in the dark ages? Our military teaches our youthful enlistees to HATE their enemies so bad they want to kill them.... Meanwhile guess what the "enemies" are being taught by their commanders? The same HATE!! These are not wars against 'terrorism' these are wars for profit and population control as the military squanders our environment away. How much fuel did we go through in the invasion of Afganistan/ Iraq / whoever is next? How many untold billions for destruction instead of education right here at home?bring our troops/ fuel /dollars back home to gaurd our borders from invasion! Let the rest of the world do as it must!!!

Even though I'm on the pacifist side.. you're really just rambling on about nothing.

US Army personnel are not taught to hate anyone, they are simply taught to be efficient at their job. Quite often, they will have to kill, but there is nothing ruthless about the American military within the constraints of war.

We drop bombs from far away so we don't injure our own troops in the process.
We aren't still in the dark ages. The fundamentalists who wish to rule the world with Islamic Fascism are, though.
I can tell you've spent a lot of time in the military if that's what you think the military teaches its people. You are right that the IslamoFascists teach their children **IN SCHOOL** to hate the west, though. That's actually in their textbooks. By the time they get to military, they're only reinforcing the brainwashing.
The US isn't at war because of hate, it's at war to protect its interests, including national security, and the international oil supply (which, as the term 'international' indicates, means it's not just for us).
What on earth makes you think that the US wants to control the Middle eastern population?? We got better things to do with our tax dollars than feed a foreign country.
Yeah, the environment gets trashed in a war. But hey, ya been to Germany or Japan lately? I have. besides the artillery holes in the building, you can't tell from the landscape where the bombs hit. Why? Because nature adapts, overcomes, heals, and regenerates.
Don't have the fuel stats handy. How much fuel have you used over the last five years? What good did it do? At least the fuel expended in Afghanistan and Iraq deposed two oppressive governments and enabled free elections in both countries. I bet those folks are pretty happy about that.
The military budget buys bombs, true, but it also funds reconstruction efforts which are ongoing (quite successfully, in fact) in both countries. Education is already overfunded at the federal level. If you're upset with your local education budget, take it up with your local legislators, as the Federal Gov is not supposed to contribute any more than 10% of any district's total budget--locals are supposed to pay attention and take care of how their kids are educated.
First bit of sense you've made--yes, the borders need to be guarded MUCH more tightly. That's what Customs and Border Patrol is for, not the military. And yes, I think we should pull a heckuva lot more money out of the international welfare pot and address our own needs first, but even now, people like you accuse the US of not doing enough 'for the starving childern' already. Can't have it both ways.

wacko.

Our troops will not be put on our borders unless there is a real emergency. They are not trained to fight Americans. We have the guard for that task, and I wish to keep it limited to the guard. Bombs from far away is a great idea. It reduces loss of life for us. Soldiers have been trained to hate the other side since the beginning of time.
You obviously have a beef against the war, and I suspect the military too. I hope you feel better now that you have gotten this off your chest.

So much nonsense, so little space. We drop bombs from far away because we don't want our soldiers or whoever to die when the bomb explodes. Hard to figure out, I guess. What should we be telling our enlistees going off to war? "When you see the enemy smile so he can see the brightness of your teeth. Then, if you can get close, hand over your weapon and give him a kiss?" Go back to your glory days of the 60s and leave the rest of us logical people alone. Peace man.

Isolationism is not the answer, that went out in the middle ages when we found out we needed each other. Not only for trade but for protection. You are being just a tad unrealistic,we can never go back ,only forward. The next 10 years will be a turning point for our great country. I for one shall be on the front line for education, renewable energy, and not selling out our environment as we have already done. We must move forward to a better understanding of the fact that we only have this one earth ,one more chance to do it right. I am for America yes but I am also for this world.

The only appropriate goal in war is to kill the enemy. If you won't do that, the punishment is the extermination of yourself, your family and all of your loved ones.

The problem here is you are too stupid to know that the enemy is, in fact, objectively evil. Only death will deter them. If that was not true, there would be no need for war. But, it is true.

Every single past society that has thoughtthe way you do, without exception, has been exterminated. This is especially true of those that faced the evil of Islam.

What your attitude basically boils down to is cowardice. You are not willing to protect yourself, your family, your loved ones. Instead, you ignore experience and lessons of the past and create a comforting delusion. The price for that is death.

sadly yes we are still on the times when America thinks it can impose their will in others . they are mistaken and this so call war first to look for non existent WMD and then for their "democracy" will teach once more America that not matter how good or bad their intention are they have to let the world evolve by itself . i do believe they ( the Muslims ) need to change and i do think they have chose the wrong pact but will imposing what i think solve their problems or will it make enemies of them to me ??? the answer is the second . democracy can't be taught it has to be look for and reached for the ones which desire it , not just given out whit out caring what they think or if they look for.

and by the way i do think it is a coward act to trow missiles to anyone unprovoked not matter how smart it may seem to anyone just as it is ussing innocents as shields .

we drop bombs from far away for very good reasons.
1. so we don't blow up with it
2. so it has more time to adjust its path toward the target (guided bombs only)
3. so we have a smaller chance of getting shot down by AAAs or SAMs

there is nothing cowardly about that. there is a fine line between cowards, and warriors that want to live to fight another day.
it's like calling the modern day soldier a coward for using a rifle instead of killing his enemies with his bare hands.

Don't cry for me Argentina...LOL...

The army/air force drops bombs from a distance to minimize the loss of our forces and maximize the loss of their forces.

What if the war ended and everyone came home????
Think about it if this did happen. These soldiers are getting nice pay, especially nice pay if they are like 18 years old to go over there. Many of them aren't in any eminent danger even and they are getting combat pay to send back home to their families or save up for whatever they like. I think its good to give the youth of America a start and a chance at paying for higher education without such severe debt. Soldiers get paid much better for active duty than regular duty.

Dude, as a Navy aviator, i have to say that was the dumbest question I've ever seen posted. Cowardly? So far away? Who the hell we released from so far away. Most of the times I've done bombing missions, we were flying so low I could tell you what the hell they were doing before they went bye bye. Get your facts straight before asking a stupid question! Personally, I think it's pretty cowardly that your *** is here asking stupid questions about the war and those of us fighting it from your couch. Join up or shut up!
