Supposedly no. People worry about bacteria that can cause serious illnesses. But many people, myself and just about all the people I know included, have licked beaters covered in cake mix or brownie batter or have eaten raw cookie dough a number of times and have never gotten sick from it. There is no guaruntee about what is safe and what is not, but it isn't very common to get sick from batter or dough containing raw egg.

Depends on the eggs. For our househould, yeah. Because we buy natural eggs laid by free-range chickens fed with natural feed, and owned by neighbors we trust.
On the other hand, eggs from the store, NO! Do you know what they do to eggs in a factory?
The chickens are de-beaked, then placed in filthy warehouses. The lights will come on for an hour, then go off for an hour, so the chickens think that every time the lights come on, it's morning, so they'll start laying.
The eggs go along a conveyor belt, then are dipped into a barrel of toxic, poisonous liquid, to kill all the germs on the outside. But what these companies aren't thinking about, is the fact that eggshells are porous, so they are absorbing the toxic liquid that they are dipped in!
So no! Store-bought eggs are NOT safe to eat raw. I don't even think they're safe at all. Research your area for a farmer with free-range chickens!

It is very very very very rare to get an egg with salmonila in it, then even if you do you would have to be imunocompomized to have much of an effect. Generally use fresh from the fridge eggs, don't let them sit out, and you shouldn't have any problems. I think i heard it was like 1 in every 10,000 eggs even has salmonila so don't worry about it, people have been eating raw eggs for years and had no problems, if you are worried eat paturized eggs, they are more expensive but you don't have to worry.

Not really but I have never died from it. You also risk your life crossing the street. Provided that does not become the entire meal it is probably OK to lick the bowl or eat a little chunk of choc chip cookie dough.
I don't want to suggest anything that would hurt anybody so use your best judgment. It is supposedly not safe any more bcz of salmonella..

According to the food network, if you are a healthy person, not a child nor a senior citizen and are not pregnant, it is safe.
