i'm up to a 2 min and 10 seconds. are there any techniques that would help me out.

Do breathing exercises. Blow up balloons. Anything to increase the amount of air you can take in at one time

I have mastered the technique, as you can too. It's called SCUBA, or self contained underwater breathing aparatus.
