I applaud your observation but notice a bit of a problem with the comparison. Mexican's, in general, came out in such masses to protest immigration and many waived their nations flag to argue that Texas, Arizona, Cali, NM ect. were wrongfully stolen and are infact the property of Mexicans. They are not only doing it to prove that point, but the Mexican flag originated apon independance from Spain 80+ years ago, the human sacarfices you speak of the cultural traditions practiced typically not by mexicans but by aztecs, mayans, olmecs what have you.
the waving of the confederate flag is also done so not to specifically represent every cultural trend taht existed at the time of confederate superiority/prosperity, but to stress the issue that is represented by the confederate flag today...SLAVERY.
hence there is no double standard, mexicans were robbed of their land, and confederates were robbed of their slaves.
i am not here to say which is right, but i think IF one were to have a point, it would certainly not be those waving confederate flags in 2006

I live in Mississippi and we are proud of the confederate flag being a part of our state flag.
I am not a redneck, hillbilly, or any of the other nice things people say about the South.
I am also not illiterate or stupid. I just graduated college magna *** laude and am a member of Mensa.
My family did not own slaves. We were too poor. The fact that my great grandmother was American Indian would also have made us more likely to be slaves than to own them (it wasn't just the blacks, people).
Yes, members of my dad's family a generation or two back were klan. The family did not approve and those members were in effect "ex-communicated", or thrown out of the family, if you prefer.
The difference between the Southerners and the Mexicans (and there are many Mexican Southerners anymore) is that they are showing pride in heritage their way, we show it in ours. If they want to wave their flag, I am glad they are proud of their country. The difference is, it's a different country than ours and the reason they seem to be waving it is to push into our face that although they are Mexican citizens they are trying to force themselves into being citizens in the US without benefit of legality. I do disagree with that. Our flag was still an American Flag in a sense, and that is why it's still flown. Are we going to take over Mexico next and make their heritage part of ours too? I have no problem with that. They want to be part of Mexico but live here, I say we just take over Mexico, throw out their corrupt government, and move all the bigoted a**holes on here that believe Southerners are idiots to the areas of Mexico that can't support people and let the Mexicans have Texas and LA.

He generally does not even become aware of that he is speakme to ladies and does now not notice how so much of a hypocrite he's. It's probably given that he certainly perspectives the ladies he talks to as simply peers and could on no account believe of them or else. However, he does now not recognize the whole lot that you're pondering and perhaps thinks that you're attracted to these men. He's simply paranoid. By "He", I supposed any man who does that. There are plenty of double specifications for each genders on this international. It's as a substitute traumatic. Girls have performed this routinely as good so do not be pondering it is just men.

Yes it is a double standard. But what are the chances that any of this historically accurate information would be taught in a public school ?The only thing public schools teach about this subject is that the confederate flag is a symbol of hate and oppression, and fail to mention that slavery was legal and slaves were regarded as property. If the government would suddenly take away what we today ,regard as property( i.e pets, cars)there would be another so called "civil war."In theory anyway, most people probably would just surrender their sh!t without a fight.

I don't have a problem with either one. I do have a problem when someone uses anything, including another flag, to put down my country and flag - as in flying another flag over the Stars and Stripes.
I like the Confederate flag and don't associate it with slavery. I associate it with Southern culture.

That flag was used when a bunch of people tried to devide this great nation & make their own country. That flag would be considered the flag of a traitor to someone who served in that war.
Or course, the Civil War wasn't started over disagreements about slavery.
Your second-to-last paragraph makes is on the right track. If they want to live here, they have to use the U.S. flag. That's OUR countries flag, and when you join a country, you take their flag.

i dont know what any one else thinks but i dont have a problem with the confederate flag, i also dont have a problem with the mexicans flag as long as they know and realize that we're in the u.s. and that flag comes first and formost. i dont know why they cant be flown togather that way they can be proud of both the flags after all the mexicans have to realize that they are in the u.s. but thier is nothing wrong with people being proud of thier heritage..

Ask any redneck what "confederate" means and they won't be able to tell you. The average "redneck" is uneducated and just fly confederate flags as more or less a gang symbol
