the racism that occassionally comes from both sides in this "debate?" Has anyone actually changed their stance one way or the other from the debate on Yahoo Answers? Aren't we all glad there is an immigration question that we can all answer without attacking each other?

Amen to this :)

Though for the record, I have never taken the debate to be about race.

The migrant workers are here doing jobs that most Americans will not do for the pay they are offered. I have no problems with migrant workers as long as they have a work permit. My stance has not changed, I also support the annex Mexico, it seems we're supporting their economy anyway. I have many Mexican friends and their families are torn apart by this issue. Many believe that the illegals should be made to leave and go about coming here the right way, but others think that if they are here and are working that they should be made citizens. Where I work has gotten bad enough that the application now says that if you can not read and write English that you are ineligible for employment. That is not discrimination either, in my view, we work with the public and for all of you that have gotten one of those people that don't speak english when you call your cell phone company with a question, you know how frustrating it is to ask a question and they don't understand enough English to answer you.

I would like to see this issue debated more often, actually. Our generation has such a short attention span these days.

I live in the southwest, and the illegal immigrants are literally tearing our communities apart at the seams.

We must debate and address this most critical issue.

Everyone once in a while, we get to read a decent question like yours, yes. You speak a great truth. I came to this forum early on when Yahoo answers was new; I left, needed a break from all the nonsense, the kid games and jerks. I'll see how long I can last this time; and no, nothing really seems to change with people.

Yeah. I used to say annex Mexico, but got ignored. After reading all the statements by illegal supporters, I realize this is an invasion, not an immigration issue. They aren't here to be Americans. THey aren't coming legally and flying American flags. They are falsely claiming the southwest and California is their country already and we are the illegals and they are flying Mexican flags. I've changed since coming on here.

I have changed my stance on this issue....

I used to be neutral, I really didn't have an opinion on the issue. But one day, I accidentally stumbled on yahoo answers and starting looking at all the categories....Then I came here, immigration board, just out of curiosity....

I was shocked, my mouth dropped from reading all the hate and misinformation, being said about Mexican people.....So I decided to take a stance on being pro amnesty....

I live on the border you know, I see these people everyday....And for the most part they are good people....That's my opinion....take it for what its worth.

Yea I am very sick of the whole topic. I understand that it is important BUT there is many different things equally important that is wrong with the country. Plus, would we find the same thing wrong if someone from Canada was working here illegally ?

That debate means nothing to most of the world. But we do like to watch the Americans 'go for it'

no i havent changed my mind on this one as far as ilegial immmighrats go, the problems with illegial immigrats are costing this country a fortune in lost american jobs etc, we need too get americand back too work in this country jobs buzing and factories going etc, when you drag a imigrannt in to this country, you are losing more more of americans another job etc, on lost wages and production, etc, and sometimes the illegial immigrats end up on the welfare lines if nothing is out there for them and then we turn arouind and educate them feed them and, many end up in the slammer again againn, when are we goona wake up in this country and start taking care of our own americans?/ we need jobs here for americans not illegial imigrants, etc, do we run aroound other countriesclokinf for handout?? no, lets look at americans need first, lets cut the, fat here with illegial immigrants something must bwe done fast we are drowning with more debt in this country etc
