my friend like to use his email to write to himself and use it as a journal..to remind him of things and general thoughs.I think that is weird..what do you think?

I don't think that is weird at all. I believe that people use many different concepts to remind them of errands that need to be dealt with and well I know some people that use their e-mails as journals so I say whatever floats their boat.

Not weird. Some people use writing in a journal as a sort of therapy to help them sort out their feelings.
Sure better then guns and Knives.

well i suppose its not strange, i do something similar,
when i used to work (i now play poker for a living), anything that i thought i should do, i would e-mail my home address, so when i got home i would remember, once done i would delete them of course, and I always used the same subject line REMINDER, so that i could easily sort via subject line and if there were no reminders then i had nothing to do
just his way of keeping his life in order i suppose
another way of thinking this is......Are people who write in diary's (paper based) weird?

maybe, he doesn't have too much friends to share his general thoughs. Anyway, he isn't weird. But you gotta tell him to make his own diary. He doesn't have to email himself, it's not a good way to do that.

No, it's not weird. I think it's cool that he takes the time to compose his thoughts. Most of the time I try to push thoughts out of my head if they run deeper than I want to deal with.

I dont think it is weird he doesnt want to buy a journal so he uses the internet.That is fine to me.

Why do you think it's weird?
He's simply found other uses for a technology. Nothing weird about it.
It's not like he thinks he's communicating with someone else.
Even if it is weird, what's wrong with that? I'm weird, and there's nothing wrong with me.

No. Don't laugh (I know others who did the same as me here so you may not laugh) but I would think of something I had to remember and call my house and leave myself a message to remember something. :) Take notes - always. LOL

my first reaction was - yes your friend is weird
but then i thought that lots of people kep diaries, so really your friend (ok I think its really you too !) is only keeping a hi tech diary, so no, you're not weird
