Such statements are called hypotheses contrary to facts. Why bother to speculate over things like that? Any answer given is moot because you can answer it anyway you like and nobody will be able to refute it. Any disagreement will be in the arena of futile academic talk. It's interesting to talk about but adds nothing to the knowledge pool. Better to talk about things that have happened as they are objective.

It's possible that certain passages, or even whole books, were. We are not at all certain who the authors were, especially as much of the text began as oral tradition that was passed from person to person, generation to generation.
