Nothing is wrong with YOUR life, as your parents' choices have nothing to do with you. But yes, your parents' have some issues with relationships. This is not your fault! The best you can do is learn from their mistakes and not repeat the cycle for your own life!!
In my opinion, the biggest problem in the world is that people aren't honest with themselves. They marry, have kids, date, take jobs, etc...for the WRONG reasons! Life is all about choices. Good choices are those that are well thought out. Get to know yourself well, and you won't make the same mistakes they did!! You are already halfway there, because you can sense that something isn't right. Good luck - you are in control of your life!

Imagine a perfect little kitten, all fluff and tiny little paws, mewing and shivering in the middle of a busy highway on a dark, wet night as cars rush past at a mile a minute.
Is something wrong with the kitten's life? Nothing at all -- except that it is in a TERRIBLY dangerous place.
So, little kitten, here's what you have to do.
1. Pay CLOSE attention to what's going on around you and STAY AWAY FROM PLACES LIKE THIS when you get out of the road. Learn the signs, recognize them when you see them in the future.
2. Even though the place you're in is VERY dangerous for a kitten to be in, it can be even MORE dangerous to get away from a place like this if you just bolt blindly into the night. You can get run over by a car that's going past... you can get rocks thrown at you by mean boys... you can get chased by a dog and maybe even killed. So as much as you want to run, kitten... learn to THINK first.
3. When you DO get away from the train wreck that's going on around you, remember this: a full-grown cat is one of nature's most perfect creatures, independent and powerful, completely capable of surviving on its own, of providing itself with food, water, shelter, and a good safe life, without any assistance from cats, dogs, or humans. So when an adult cat finds a human being to settle down with, they do it not because the person they're with is taking care of them, they do it because they genuinely believe that life is BETTER -- not easier, not safer, not cheaper, but richer and more fulfilling.

Sweetie, I've been married 3 times and I can tell you there is nothing wrong with your parents. This kind of thing happens more and more these days. I know it affects you, but just try to understand why their marriages didn't work out for them. And try to do a better job with your relationships/marriage someday. Learn from their mistakes.

Not necessarily. Some people seem to be so well - solid and well adjusted- even under the worst circumstances. Just don't take your parents' examples of relationships to heart. Figure it out for yourself and take your time. You don't have to end up like that. You can make it work for you if you know what you want. In the meantime, it's always good to keep your sense of humor. Right?

Only if you make the same mistakes your parents made. You need to find a way to have stable and long term relationship. Your parents have taught you by their actions that there is no committment in life, you can run away from problems. That is not the case, the problems follow you. New faces...same problems.

Yes - there is something wrong with your life. You are seeing some of the most confusing, weird behavior in both your parents and all of their spouses. Divorce is wrong - I know that it is accepted in our society - but it is still wrong. You probably wonder why your parents strive for something they value so little.
As long as they love you and you know it - then you are going to be OK. You are you, and you can have anything you want in your life. You can be like them or not - it's for you to decide.

It sounds like the only thing wrong with your life is that you have not had any roll models or structure for how to live life. We have an instruction manual for how do live our lives and it is called the BIBLE, it is God's word and it explains how we are to inter-act with Him and fellow human beings. Seek out a good BIBLE believing church and learn about JESUS CHRIST and that will be the very best thing you can do to get on with your life and get it on the right track.

No! It's not YOUR life that you are talking about...it's your Mom and your Dad's life. Unfortunately, you have to live with the consequences until you live on your own (do you live on your own?). Anyway, don't blame yourself for their permiscuous behavior. LIFE AND LEARN!!! Learn from their error and don't imitate it.
Oh yea...and Do love them...they are your parents afterall. No matter what mistakes they make, show them respect.

Your parents' hapless love lives should not reflect badly on you. It is in no way your fault, and there is nothing wrong with your life. Your family is dysfunctional, but you should not let this affect you personally.
