where can i find a silencer for my m4 assault rifle(real rifle not airsoft)?

It is really quite sad when people like to say that silencers are illegal in the USA. Also sad is the assassination BS, and the "why would you want one" crap. A permit or license is not needed to buy, sell, make or own a silencer.

There are no federal laws prohibiting silencer ownership in the USA, but fifteen states ban civilian ownership. To possess a silencer, a person has to have an ATF form 1 (to make) or form 4 (transfer), or be a special occupational taxpayer (SOT) to make them as a business. The local sheriff has to sign the form 1 or 4, and it is sent in with photos of yourself, and fingerprints. After paying a $200 tax, the transfer or making is approved.

A properly made silencer will not affect rifle accuracy, or degrade muzzle velocity, but will probably affect point of impact. A silencer with rubber wipes will lower bullet velocity and degrade accuracy though. Silencers are available for as little as $150, but the ones rated for machine guns can run more than $1000.

I make my own silencers for pistols and rifles. But since I do not own machineguns, I can settle for using aluminum and the softer stainless alloys, instead of using stuff like titanium or inconel.

Silencers are not entirely illegal in the U.S. the first link shows what states allow supressors, the second is a popular website for buying firearms and accesories. Silencers and sound supressors do cost alot, likley more than the M4 itself.

Silencers are elligal in the United States. Why would you want to get one for a rifle, it will throw off your shot. They are mainly used on small arms.

Can't use a silencer legally without a permit in the US. Don't know where u are. They are easy to make. Plans on the internet.

potato's work foam cups lawnmower mufflers check the internet some are made from glass,sand and tubeing. you can get premits and a class firearms lic. to have them but they are not legal. you can have supressers. its not just the silencer that makes it stealth its also down loading the charge too slower it goes the less noise it makes depends on what you are up too and what needs to be done paper about 8oo feet a secound

Better check the law. My son told me silencers are illegal, though he can be in error. Better to check it out.
