My four wisdom teeth just came in, and one of them came in rotten. Since then, the hole has gotten bigger, and the tooth has chipped away. I am in an immense amount of pain right now, and can't go to a dentist until September 1 because of a mess up of the Army. Does anyone have any remedies to ease the pain until then? I really don't want to go to the ER to sit for hours while in pain, and my doctor's are hard to get into. Thanks!

Run do not walk to the emergency room, if the hole is getting bigger, and the tooth is rotten, you probably have a serious infection going on. The infection could eventually spread to other teeth. This needs to be treated now, you need antibiotics. I don't know what the mess up with the army is, but don't let it stop you from getting treatment.

I would just take two 500mg aspirin (that's kind to the stomach), every five or six hours, and then I'd rub tea tree oil onto my gums. You can get tea tree oil at a health food store...get a good brand...it's not expensive at all. Not only does it numb the pain so you can tolerate it, it also heals the tissues. Don't drink the stuff...just rub it into your sore gums real good, maybe in the morning, and for sure before you go to bed. It tastes pretty bad...but after awhile you won't mind. It can numb your tongue, too, by the way. I've also made a paste of tea tree oil and charcoal, and just before bed, I packed it around my gums. The charcoal will draw out infection, and the tea tree oil numbs and heals. They may have other ideas for you at the health food store. I know the aspirin, or whatever you use, Tylenol, whatever, will help, too. I sure hope you feel better, soon..my heart goes out to you, hon.

I had a wisdom tooth break and decay last year.. the best thing for me was to take Liquid gel Advil pills.. that.. and by insterting extra strength oralgel right into the actual cavity.. I guarantee you the pain will go away almost instantly.. keep doing this until you get to your dentist.

Clove oil works miracles. Don't have clove oil? Try grinding cloves into a dryish paste. Rub on sore spots.

You really need to go to the ER. I don't think there is a remedy,
except prayer, and toothache medicine from the drugstore.
