Well it is very much o.k as it contains natural ingredients and proven to have much benefit for your hair and scalp. I will advise you however that do this on the days that you intend to stay in your home. You may like its smell, its not bad at all but when it stands longer in your hair especially when exposed under the sun, it wil make you smell like a copra (dried coconut meat) and I would say that most people who will be near you will definitely catch its "scent" but sad to say that it will give you a "thumbs down rating". Its at your own risk if you insist to use it as an alternative to grease.

natural oils are much better for your hair than grease. I would suggest that you wet down your hair first, then apply the coconut oil. It will help lock in the moisture.
