Woodpeckers are actually looking for bugs is why they peck on trees so maybe he was eating the insects.
Maybe the Noah's ark story was aliens coming here, the water was the sky. The Ark was actually a space ship. Because there was birds on the ark. Says that is where we all came from.
If it was on the earth couldn't he just stop women from reproducing. In 100 years everyone would be gone. Lot easier.
Unless they had to go a long distance. The ark was actually galatica coming from where ever they came from

ha ha funny question. He probally told the woodpeckers "put a hole in this boat, and i feed you to the cat"
Maybe god prevented them from pecking except on a block of wood just for that.

He wouldn't have needed to take woodpeckers. Woodpeckers can fly, so they and any other bird would have escaped the floods.
