i live here in florence, also attend the university of florence studying interior design in the department of industrial design. i can help you out in giving you the general idea of how it goes in renting apartments. since ive answered this question before to others, just check the webpage below:

what i recommend you to do is, leave to florence as soon as possible or at the least in mid august and begin to search for apartments or a place to stay for the month of september. usually classes begin around october so, some people try to rent their apartment from august to sept. until someone comes in for october until next july. but if i were you, id worry and look for it now! its better to get the best ones before others do.

the rest is in the web page above, check it out and if you have any questions feel free to contact me!

I'm Italian and I'm living in Florence if you decide to move in you can tell me everything you need.. So I can't understand if you need an house or a room to rent.. Anymore there are some roomsrent we say (affittacamere) you can have a room for 15 euro a day..

There are lots of listings for apartments, etc. near the schools. Get there soon and stay at a hotel for a couple days while you look.
