I often go into my mother's room to talk to her or ask a question while whe's reading, and she constantly tells me to get out. I am about to be 22 years old. Is she wrong for always telling me to get out or should I just stay out?

Just go in there bashing a saucepan lid with a wooden spoon... she'll be so glad when you stop that chatting to you will be a blessed relief by comparison!

She shouldn't be yelling at you or telling you to get out! She sould be welcoming your company!! You're almost 22! You're going to be growing up, moving out, getting married, etc someday and you won't be around to bug her anymore, then she's going to miss it. Unless of course your interrupt her incessantly all day long, but it doesn't sound like you do, so don't worry about it. Next time she tells you to get out, calmly explain to her that you're really sorry, you just want to spend time with her because you know you're both not going to be around forever. Get pouty if you have to. I'm sure she'll understand.

What will you feel if you are reading a very interesting/thrilling book or novel and then somebody keeps interrupting you? Don't keep on popping in into her room unless it's really very important. Or try talking with her or squeezing your questions during meal times.

You're 22 not 2. Surely you can wait until she's done reading. Maybe reading in her room is the only HER time she gets and you're disturbing it. Unless your question is what to do since the house is currently on fire...LEAVE THE WOMAN ALONE!!!

Next time pop your head in the door and day "When you get the chance I'd like to talk to you." Then she can tell you when she is free.
I'd say that anytime someone retreats to their room to read, they realy want to read undisturbed.

What kind of question is that? Of course you should stop interrupting her ain't that how she raised you? Now if you have something important to tell her, than let her know.

i think that both of you need to have a conversation. she has to help you and you have to respect her free time. maybe you can agree on timing or in another way.
