Because they are free thinking. They are open minded to all situations and are trully willing to learn in life. They don't allow themselves to be told what to belive. They find what feels right for them. Just because one goes to chruch doesn't mean they are spiritual. It means they are religious. And going to church doesn't automatically make you a good person.

You can be a very spiritual person and not perscribe to any particular religion. Just going to church doesn't make you any more spiritual. I think there's a difference between spiritual and religious. I know people who claim to be religious and don't go to church. A church is just a building. The rest comes from your heart & soul. Whether you are a believer or not!!!!!

The most spiritual people think for themselves. They search until they find the answer for them, they don't show up at a church and get someone elses answer forced down their throat under the threat of burning in hell for an eternity. Nothing like fear to put the ole Kaibash to free thinking. Look what it's done for the mood of the country!! :-)

Church has traditionally been an anathema to a relationship with God. God created men equally, but man disagrees.
Relationship with God is based upon God first then man. The vanity of a Church sees a relationship with God as Church first then God then man.
So why would any spiritual person go to a Church? Maybe they would go so they could experience sadism and masochism.

Because they've figured out the difference between spiritual fruits and religious zealots.
There ARE good people at churches though, just like there are good people anywhere. You just have to look.

Church does not encourage being spiritual, it encourages conformity and really, a demanding that all inherits toe the line. Not an atmosphere for spiritual growth.
