get linux at redhat.com

you will need to partition your hard drive to allow a seperate formatted partition to handle linux. Look for a program called Partition Magic

Have windows installed first

Choose a linux distro (www.linux.org)

Install the linux - most distros use a bootloader that you can use to load windows or linux.

Don't install Linux and then windows - windows will hide the linux cause it's gay.

An additional option would be to use VMWare (Virtual PC software), since they are free now. This way you can have both OS running at the same time.
