You know I've read several different articles about Colorado today and I must say the one thing that struck me was ...what the heck took so long?? Here's an excerpt from another article...
"Agency workers must check the applicant's immigration status on an online system. This process is required for new applicants and those who recertify (as often as once a year) for services. "
I'm just wondering why in the heck this wasn't mandatory in the first place?? OR when will the rest of the states follow?? I applaud Colorado for actually taking the bull by the horns tho, hopefully they won't relent.....hopefully the glitches and kinks will be worked out before they really get swamped!!

It is getting there. It is a State run government and no legal immigrants seemed to have issue with this. I liked what Dao stated "It's different for people who are not U.S. citizens, but we'll follow the law," Dao said." Now wouldn't I just love to here an illegal alien state something like that. I really liked it and I think there are glitches, but those that really need the benefits will be willing to get that documentation together for the better.

I think it was/will be a paperwork nightmare for an already overburdened system.
