Went to purchae new glasses about four months ago & was told I had Glaucoma. Thought I would be employed by now so that I would have coverage. Need to find an eye clinic in Michigan (Detroit or Southfield) that will treat the Glaucoma free of charge.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will help you. If worse comes to worse, go to the emergency room. They have to take you and will be able to refer you to someone who will help. Be prepared for a long day of waiting.

Since you're employer filed for bankruptcy there is no chance at cobra. Many states have benefits in a "state pool" type situation for those who cannot cobra their insurance. For the best possible care get a job as soon as possible that offers insurance. Get it taken care of while looking for a better job. I know this is rarely an option. Good luck!

Your local Department of Health should be able to assist you in finding help. Also, you might consider one of the "teaching" hospitals in the Detroit area. The University of Michigan has an excellent medical school. You should be able to get help from their hospital.
