No,if You wet the dog first and dont over exert it. That would be good, because they can only sweat through their mouth by panting. But when I was a kid I saw a Guy pour a cooler of ice water over His dog, because the dog was running to much on a hot day, and seemed to be suffering. That was to much of a shock to the dogs system and it killed it. Just use a little common sense and go easy.

The wet hair will feel good in the heat. Its ok. Remember the the sidewalks and streets can get very hot. So if its too hot in your area, spare your dog the walk. he will appreciate you for that. Walk in the evening when its cooler. I've seen dogs trying to pick their feet up off the ground while people stroll down street faires, not even noticing what the dog is doing.

Naw. It's like if you go swimming in the river and then walk home in the heat. It just keeps you cooler but it is a bit awkward to walk soaking wet sometimes so don't make your dog go too fast.

Just use your brain: If someone poured a bucket of water over you, clothes an all, and then you went for a walk in the heat, it would feel awkward to walk in wet clothes but it would feel good to be cool.

If he's interior the solar do no longer moist him. which will make him 10X warmer than till now. If the collar isn't imbedded, shrink it off. whether that's and you may no longer take him to the vet call them they're going to take you little by little on what to do. you truly would desire to take the dogs w/ you. call the pound and tell them you chanced on a dogs who became being relatively mistreated, Take photos of the dogs and nurse him decrease back to well-being and then if there is any complication you ought to have info which you have nursed him from animal cruelty. you truly would desire to get the collar off of him and supply him a shower in an mind-blowing cool place. Giving him water such as you're doing is large. each and every so often the dogs gets soo warm and the drink chilly water and the consequence is the the two getting diarhea or puking. solid success. Please take that dogs w/ you and shield him.

No, why would getting a dog wet be dangerous. It would help the dog stay cooler. You should be careful that the bottom of the dog's paws don't get burnt on hot cement though.

No, but if you must SHADE SHADE SHADE!!!!! I cannot stress it enough!!! Dogs cannot speak to you in words but they can tell you if they are hurt or sore. Even if I give my dogs plenty of water I will not take them out of their yard in hot weather. Your worried about the water when you should be still more concerned with the heat. You should also be real concerned about the pavement. If the ground is hot to your hand, it most definitely is hot for your dogs feet. Be very careful if your dog is black. Black absorbs more heat than any other color.

I don't see why not. The physiology between dogs and humans are pretty much the same. Try it yourself first. Hop out of the shower, throw some clothes on, and then go for a walk. It'll probably cool you down so it'll probably be the same for your dog.

no, it would actually help it from becoming over heated. My dogs love to go for a swim before or after a walk.

ok ur all dumbass's. keep in consideration that a dog has three times the amount of hair per square inch on their entire body then a human has on their head!!! so ill spell it out for all the stupid *****... the heat gets trapped in the hair and turns to steam making them H.O.T.
