The second coming of Christ is a prophesied event from the foundation of the world. It will happen after the great tribulation period that has also been prophesied.

Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, Jude 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

Christ returns as judge and King of Kings and Lord of Lords:

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Christ’s visible return to the earth to sit up his earthly kingdom and to redeem the Nation of Israel and to give the land to them that they had been promised from Abraham.
Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Zech 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Matt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

After his return to the earth, He will judge Israel and the Nations on the earth that have went through the tribulation period.

Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: Matt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Try watching the news sometime. You are actually living in the prophecies. Read Revelations. It's happening right now. May God have mercy on us all and give us the strength for what is to come. Really folks, open your eyes.

The "end times" have been predicted for 5000 years, or as long as the guilt-ridden Judeo-Christian tradition has been around.

We're still here. Doesn't that put even a SLIGHT dent in your belief of such a ridiculous notion as "end times?"

One of these days a huge asteroid will hit the earth without ANY signs of the "end times." That WILL be the end.

The end.

Israel would become a nation again in their homeland.
The sea and the waves will be roaring.
Pestilences, earthquakes, and famines.
Wars and rumors of wars.
There will be a one world government (your seeing that play out in the news).
Mankind would be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, boastful, hateful.
Knowledge will increase.
It'll be more and more like Sodom and Gomorrah.
The Jewish Temple will be rebuilt.
There will be a war started in the area of the Euphrates River (Iraq) that will kill 1/3rd of the world's population.
All will be forced to take a mark in their hand (unless they don't have one-then it's in their forehead) in order to buy or sell (RFID chip?).

I was just reading one. Chapter 8 - Book of Zechariah - pertaining to Jerusalem:

"The Lord of Host says, I am greatly concerned --- yes, furiously angry --- because of all that Jerusalem's enemies have done to her. Now I am going to return to my land and I, myself, will live within Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called 'The Faithful City,' and 'The Holy Mountain,'and 'The Mountain of the Lord of Hosts."
"The Lord of Hosts declares that Jerusalem will have peace and prosperity so long that there will once again be aged men and women hobbling through her streets on canes, and the streets will be filled with boys and girls at play. [Living Bible] [Speaks of the 1000 year reign of Christ when the earth will experience peace.]
